Do all 2001 VIs have the cali smog equipment?
wondering if all 01 VIs are cali spec, and if the difference is enough to warrant not getting an 01 or cali spec 00VI. I wouldn't be using any of the smog stuff obviously, but I've never had my hands on an 00vi or 01vi so I don't know what's happening with them.

Regardless of if it is a 2000 or 01 you can just remove the smog valves and plug up the tiny holes that they leave.. Its not much of a difference so pick whichever you can get and go to town..

I disagree, save yourself the trouble and get a fed spec one with out the swirl valves. Im not sure about your question tho refering to the 01vi being all Cali spec.

On car-part.com when you search 2001 intake manifolds there is no option for cali or fed spec, but it lumps 2000 cali spec manifolds in with the 2001s making me think that all the 2001 manifolds may have the cali spec swirl valves.

If you're only getting the upper mani Neal don't worry about it, either one is fine, the swirl valve stuff is in the lower, the upper only has an extra solenoid for them is all, and it doesn't matter if you have that there or not.

I would try to find a 00 fed spec lower manifold. It will save you time and it looks better than modding the cali spec one

He's not gonna be using a DE-K LIM.

In the case that he is only using the A33 UIM, it wont matter, there are no important differences.
There are A33 LIMs without swirl valves.

Danke for the info - I'm an 00vi noob obviously.
I'd be using a 3.5L LIM with a machined adaptor plate to match the ports.

I was wondering if the swirl valve in the LIM of DEK should be removed ? Does it make any difference with or without the swirl valve ?
