00VI start up issues, dies at start up when its cold outside

I've had my VI for almost 2 years now and I've always had troubles with it when cold weather rolls around.

Last winter I could start the car and it would die unless I immeadiately revved and held it at 1500 rpm for about a 10 seconds, then I would let off the pedal and it would be fine.

It seems that the start ups are getting harder this year and sometimes when I do my normal revving routine and let off it will still die. When this happens it usually takes about 1 or 2 more tries to finally act normal.

I don't have any idle issues or any other times when it dies. It only happens when its cold out.

Anyone else have issues like this? What can I do about this other than my usual revving-routine?

Thanks for any help in advance....

there is a thread somewhere around here with someone who was able to remedy this. i forget what he did. mine did the same thing. it was ok at first just reved it up a few seconds and she was fine, then after a few months same thing, but at stops it would die on me ? so now i just slide it neutral before a stop and it doesnt die.

will have to get that sorted one of these days 00vi owns !

Its never died when I've been stopped but sometimes when I'm taking off from a stop it feels almost like it tries to die but then catches itself real quick.

I have also had this same problem since day one of doing my 00vi, i have been dealing with it for about the same time. Sometimes when i start it, it starts right up instantly with just half a crank, no need to rev or anything. and other times, which is more often i have to give it gas to get it to start then hold it a lil bit, then idle levels out then its fine.

IACV adaptor hose as short as possible or 5th gen iacv ftmfw. You can try to bump the idle up via iacv a little also.

Theres an idle adjustment screw on the side of the IACV, you turn it and the idle can go up or down.

Thanks for the info, Im gona crank that idle up and see if it does anything.
