Where to get 00VI parts?

Just curious where you all get your 00vi parts. I dont want to buy a whole new motor just for the upgrade. I have a few local junkyards but they wont sell me just the parts. Also a little curious how long the whole process took most of you guys.

I bought everything from a member on this site in the classifieds. there are people listing them pretty frequently. I think mazzivart is selling a semi-complete kit right now... Working by myself, it took me a weekend, working about 8 hours per day. The best thing you can do is read every thread that you can dig up about it; stickies, old threads, previous problems that people have had, and other old posts that may not even seem to be completely relevant. I spent like a good 3 weeks reading threads This way, everything is likely to turn out well the first time

I got lucky and found a totalled 01 max at the junkyard while I was looking for something else. It had everything but the TB.

So this is something that involves buying a whole new motor? What kind of numbers are we talking about as far as hp gains across the rpm spectrum? The reason i ask is because if i have to spend 400-500 on a motor i might as well step it up to a 3.5 for a few hundred more.

No not exactly in my case my area junkyards are "you pick you pull" so I grabbed the peices I needed. If you search around on www.car-part.com and the classifieds here on the board you'll most likely find the parts there also. As far as the 3.5 if you have the know how and tools to get the job done then I'd go for that over the 00VI. Most dynos after a 00VI are around the 200-210 range and the 3.5 is in the 240ish range. Of course it depends on the other mods you have.
