No sir, it's the fuel rail adapter. Anywho, I tapped the TAM screw and the RPM switch is finally lighting up. Unfortunately, the green light comes on almost 1000 revolutions before the actual switch is set at. I'm thinking of setting it at 6K so that it opens at 5K. Any ideas? Oh, I got a VAFC. I've found the write-ups on the VAFC-II. Same thing or different?

Just play with the settings on the switch until you get it to where you want it - simple as that. The VAFC II writeup should be similar enough for you to get the job done, as far as I know.
RPM switch: Yeah, that would make sense. I think it was earlier in this thread(or another) that said since they are designed for 8 cyls, the rpms would be off.

Oh. Oh well. I generally skim threads, and just copy/paste the url into the most applicable category. I haven't read them all yet! The more links, the better!
Oh, and by referenced, I meant that I added a link just to that specific post for info. Anyhow.

How can I tell for sure if the VIAS is working? Should I set the RPM switch to open earlier and see if there is a boost in power at 5000 RPM? I can't tell if it's switching over or not.
pull the throttle from the engine bay, and if you know where the VIAS is( im assuming) look slightly under it while reving past 5000( idunno where u set it to) and if everything is good, you will see something moving only past that certain rpm point.

That is the easiest *accurate* way to test it. Make sure the car is up to operating temp when you do that, of course, and I suggest doing it somewhere out of the way so you don't piss the neighbors off
i'm not sure if it's because i'm using a short ram setup at the moment (can't fit the stock intake FTL!), but I noticed that the car sounds different when the vias opens - it sounds meaner than it did before I wired up the rpm switch (anyone else notice this, or is it the good old placebo effect? )
But the easiest way to be sure, as has been posted, is to go under the hood and pull on your throttle cable. look at the plunger/arm, whatever you want to call that part of the vias, and see if it moves when your revs get high

It's either placebo or your settings aren't correct. What is your RPM switch set to open the VIAS?
My summit is set to 3200, activates somewhere between 4500 and 5,000. I think it may actually be activating too soon - haven't had a chance to precisely tweak it yet, have to find a good place to do it where there are no angry neighbors

Yeah, sounds to me as though it is activating too soon or too late. If that's the case, you'll also "feel" the VIAS switchover, too. You'll have a lag and then a sudden rush of power. Feels kind of cool, but it's not what you want
