350z IM in a maxima
ok guys it is official, the 350z manifolds will not work W/O modification, its actually really close. The hood closes to the first latch but that is with out a intake. if you look closely there is a black line after the bend and if that "bend" was cut off and replaced with a straight tubing it would clear the hood easy. I remember seeing a 4th gen guy with a 3.5 swap that did the same thing.
I dont have any data as of the moment and probably wont until i get a modified manifold.
I did take the hood off and go for a test drive. i didnt really feel a difference other than power really fell off by 7k, could that be in part of the super short intake.

Cool. Thanks for sharing. I thought it had already been established that the 350Z IM wouldn't fit without some sort of modification though.
eng92 posted data here when he installed his: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=473182

its was only on the car just to see if i wanted to have the custom work done to the manifold to make it work right... i do want to get a dyno done before i do the final swap. there are a few other minor issues... like having to remove a tab from the valve cover and moving some wiring.
Do you know what the casting number for the revup collector? inside it has like ML2 and MR2 i think... i double check when i go out there

Using images in this thread (http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthread.php?t=226682) for reference you definitely have the standard collector.

No. The MREV2 is a standard collector that's been modified by an aftermarket company. You can ignore those pictures. The ones of significance are of the revup. You definitely have the standard non-revup MREV.

IMO, the Z33 (revup or not) will either gain trap or plain lose ET since we do not have Z33 CVTC maps from the factory, couple that with a stock rev limit. So, either add area under the curve, or extend the rev limit in order to exploit the 'new' powerband.

i have the TS l spec reflash so i already have the higher rev limit... the car wouldnt pull past 6800-7000, and that was in 3rd gear, short cone intake and no hood...atleast with the stock IM setup it would still pull a bit past 7k but not very hard

yeah the standard... now i didnt say it would go far past 7k just saying that i could get it to the rev limiter without much trouble...
I did forget to mention that i did remove the butterfly from the the stock IM just to see if it had a difference... is that what everyone refers to as the SSIM or is that when they make a block off plate?

In other news, when are you gonna break down and get the Z33 CVTC maps programmed in?

this guy says: "MREV2 5/16" Iso Spacer Bought these items back in January, they were installed by Tony over at Motordyne. These items combined will give you the highest hp/tq gains over any n/a mod. Here is my dyno to prove it. This was done at the time of installation at Motordyne. Gains were 25hp @ 4500rpms and 28.3 tq @ 4500rpms. Supporting mods were Nismo cat-back and Pop Charger. 277HP and 263.6TQ were my final numbers."

Even though you've already established what the OP has, this is just for reference so that people can see the difference in designs...
