I have had several question about my (3" ~ 76.2mm) Big Bore MAF housing. It is all aluminum and the stock sensor fits perfectly.

Very man....where'd u get the work done?

How much HP is the 3" good for? I know stock DE is good for around 300whp....any changes with the DEK/3.5 in the 3" housing?

Cuz I know I'm maxin out my MAF as is...was looking into this as an option instead of the z32.

I did all of the machining and a friend did the welding. If you check out the other thread, there is technical data in there that will show you what this 3" does...

He is N/A, it is a regular CAI I think. The point is the bigger MAF housing; the probe is the same.

Now just incorporate this directly into a CAI setup to elimate you're BBMAF and go to market.
Nice looking piece btw

Depending on the response, I may have some for sale. Diameter as of now is fixed at 3" ID but I can make special diameters on a case by case basis.

Pricing is still TBD (pending quotes from local machine shops). I plan on having them anodized, but the color is still TBD. I personally like the idea of a clear anodizing, but others will be considered. (Black, red, blue, etc).

My first production run will be about 20 units. They will come with fasteners for the sensor as well as silicon couplings (in black) with hose clamps. The picture below is what you will recieve (minus the sensor of course):

I have designs for a Big Bore Cold Air Intake, but haven't pursured a prototype yet. The only problem is that, in the case of a Place Racing CAI, the hole that is in the fender would have to be made even larger. And for those who already have the PR CAI, it is pretty tight as it is.

. That's why it's hard trying to fit those couplers on any larger than stock MAF

The screen issue has been debated since the beginning of screens in a MAF. Toss a search on here for it.

I descreened my OEM MAF on both my A32 and A33, not difference whatsoever. Not @ idle, WOT, part throttle.

On my A33, I saw a slight increase in MAF usage. (2-4%)

yeah i would be in as well i believe. if the price is reasonable, that is.
PS: looks nice and clean, but i think black anodizing would be best (more stock look). just my .02

Just as a note about the screen, Nissan ditched it on 05+ G35's maf. Just consider it weight reduction.

Still is re: we're not referring to the ID of MAF.

And actually, all my stock and aftermarket (Berk/FC/PR) A32/33 housing & all associated ductwork is 77mm OD and 70mm ID. So, 2,75". Maybe I got early production models of all my commercial hardware.

That's why I made my own.

Definitely interested with price in consideration. Is there any ballpark figure of how much it's going to be?

I had been thinking, why not make the housing longer, and add on a nub for the PCV valve hose? less sections to come apart and allow intake contamination behind the filter, know what I mean?

PS- Love the sexy fab work!

1: i'm interested. subscribed.
2: why not sell a whole intake with 3'' ID piping separate as well as your maf adapters... I'd definitely buy a new intake + maf adapter assuming the price was worth the gain.
