'07 Altima IM
Hey everyone,
I just got the 2007 altima lower intake manifold in the mail today (Thanks Dave B.!). I'm going to install it on one of my friend's spare VQ35s to see about fitment. I've only seen my LIM from the top and haven't really looked at it in detail so maybe someone could let me know if they are really close.
Here's some of the pics. Notice the rectangular runners that mold into ovals as they meet up with the heads.
Any input?

Pretty impressive if you ask me. It weighs the same as the 5.5 gen which further supports my guess in that those cars are in the 13s stock...One thing I'm not too happy about is the upper powerband....we'll have to see what we can do about that

whats the diff between the orange line and the blue line on the dynograph?
also, is there a way to put both the 5.5 maxima baseline dyno with the 07 altima baseline for direct comparison?

Here's a diagram of it. It's made of black plastic
Supposedly the TB is a different part number, so the best I can do is just compare everything. We'll see how it goes. If the lower works fine and I get the upper and find the TB doesn't work, I'll have someone fab up an adapter plate for me.

He didn't have the runfiles so there's no really accurate way to put the 5.5 gen vs. altima dynos together. You can compare them, but it won't do much for us considering there are a few more changes to the engine besides the IM.

I just popped the hood on my car, and the TB does look quite a bit different than the one pictured. The electric butterfly valve motor is on the opposite side and overall the shape is changed. We'll see how the bolts and everything else lines up and hope for the best I guess. If it doesn't work, oh well. At least we'll know it for sure

Have you figured out how you're going to activate the power valves yet?
Slightly OT, but can someone hook me up with a 2007 Alti FSM? Because I hate asking these questions when I know the answer is in there. PhatG20 doesn't have it yet.

Thanks Nietzsche. I found a lot of information on when the power valves activate with that FSM.
It works basically the same way ours does, but in some conditions (closed loop) only one of the power valves are open. It uses signals from the crank POS, MAF, Coolant temp sensor, TPS, Acclerator pedal position sensor, and the battery voltage to determine it...In this case, anyone have any suggestions? It did mention that both power valves are open at the upper 'speed' range and closed at the lower, but using a window switch to do something like that would negate the benefits of the 2 power valves...Do you think the control solenoid valves and actuators would do their job using the singals from the stock 5.5 gen sensors?

It all depends on how much control that you want. If all you care about is WOT, then a window switch for each would do.
If you want to add load as well as rpm as your controlling parameters, then you will need to go to a map-based controller (an EU for example)

There are no relay outputs that I am aware of.
The VTEC output is not map-based and only has the functionality of an rpm switch.
Do you use the additional injector maps and set the duty cycle to 100%?
