90 B12 Sentra My new winter beater
Engine Modifications: intake, ypipe, 3" exhaust, stock 4th gen upper and lower intake manifold, stock 3.0L cams, 370cc side feed injectors because I was still using stock 4th gen IM at this time, Aeromotive AFPR, 3.0 timing equipment and ECU. After I completed 3.5IM swap in July, 2009, I used a JabaayFab intake adaptor pipe to mount the IACV and stock 4th gen throttle body, rather than remote mounting the IACV and modifying/hacking up the 3.5 Throttle Body. stock 350z injectors used after IM swap.
Transmission Modifications: PPG 3rd and 4th straight cut gears, Quaife LSD, deburred, detailed, polished, and shot peened 1st, 2nd, 5th gears, input shaft, main shaft and ring gear, ACT HD Pressure Plate, Clutchnet 6 puck sprung hub disk.
Dyno Numbers: unknown, 185whp/220wtq estimated
Tuned (Yes / No): AFR tuned, timing is not advancable with Emanage blue. using stock 4th gen timing
Track Times (List Type of Tire, i.e. Street Tires / Drag Radials / Slicks): 13.26 @ 103mph slicks, 13.60 @ 102mph street tires (these are 3.0L Intake Manifold times, new times coming soon with 3.5IM installed)
Problems After Swap: had a tiny coolant drip coming from water pump weep hole immediately after swap, but the drip went away within a day and has not shown itself since. 3.5IM fitement with 3.0 valve cover as described below.
Other: I used 3.0 valve covers in the front and rear because the 3.5 valve covers were broken. I would definitely NOT suggest doing this. In order to use 3.0 valve covers, the 3.5 cam caps have to be irreversibly modified (you need to do some grinding on them to make the 3.0 valve covers seal against them). in using the 3.0 valve covers I made it very difficult to install the 3.5 intake manifold. the 3.5 intake manifold needs to be raised up with a spacer approximately 7/8" and you need to use a VQ30 front coil in for the middle rear cylinder (because the intake manifold barely clears the low profile VQ30 front coil, and will NOT clear a stock 3.0 rear coil or stock 3.5 coil, you MUST use a VQ30 front coil in the rear if you do the swap this way. my advice is do it right the first time with 3.5 valve cover on the rear). I finally completed the intake manifold swap to the stock 3.5IM in July, 2009.
Picture taken after completing the 3.5 Intake Manifold swap in July 2009.
