Exclamation swap sensors for the dek swap

I was wondering what sensors do you have to switch from the de to make the dek work?

ANd how it may run if I take the egr off all together and cap it off?

your going to need; IACV, TPS, EVAP 96+, some sensors off of the DE coolant log.. Thats all I can think of right now.

the coolant log(massive pipe feeding coolant to the motor) on the drivers side and wraps around the front of the motor.

ok the water piping. So ill just need the senser from the de right. Witch ones if you may add that too please.

And where can i get the fuel rail fitting to do away with the damper? and If im using a after market fuel pressure reglator wouldnt it be agood idea or easyer just to do away with the stock regulator as well?

Best picture I could find:


Right underneathe the hammer handle you will notice a sensor with numerous vacuums associated with 2-3 other sensors on the log. Remove the whole mess of them and match against those of the DEK log.

IIRC, You can get the fitting at napa, take the old damper with you and match up the port to be sure. We used the existing damper and it works fine.

Yeah Thanks I see now i just went and look at my dek motor today and it has the egr all ready cap at the manifold and at the intake manifold. I seen on my engine the vi has two plugs on it and the other engine I seen only had one whats the differance in the two vi's. Right at the vias two connectors under the vacum ports.

You will only need to concentrate on the black plug that accuates the VIAS via AFC.

its coming Wanted to start with a good 222 horsepower plat-form first and a lighter car than my third gen it should be fun.

No, just remove the entire bracket + lines and through them away.. incompatible with 95 EVAP.

Just use the pass. side plug(black), dont worry about the drive side(brown). Also the vacuums were/are used to provide vacuum in closing/opening the VIAS system. Also remove the bracket to left of your orange circle as it is not needed.

Sorry to resusitate a thread a few months old, but I need some clarification on the coolant log sensors.

I have a DE coolant log with 2 DEK sensors on it (one is for the gauge cluster temp gauge, the other Im not sure). Why do I absolutely need those 2 sensors specifically from a DE? Ive tested a DE and 3.5 coolant log sensor (not the one for the temp gauge, the other, bigger one - with two wires), and the resistance was the same as they give in the haynes manual for a 95-01.

What will happen if I run the 2 DEK sensors with a 95 ECU? Also - my Cam sensor and front and rear Crank sensors (pulley sensor and flywheel sensor) are from a DEK. Im pretty sure all 3 are the same damn thing but you never know...

The coolant log on my DEK, I left alone with the 2 DEK sensors and all is well except for the Emanage Ultimate Settings. If you running stock, your ok.

I used all the sensors except for the front one on the bell housing on the trans. The two on the timing cover are the same sensor but I think I used the 4th gen Cam sensor and the 5th gen Ref sensor duie to the fact that I have a sc and if was different in anyway, I didnt wanna un-install.

As for all of the EGR and EVAP sensor vaccum lines that are attached to your 95 Coolant log, you will not be able to attach that to your 00 Coolant log due to different design. What I did was modify the vac galleries that attach to the 95 coolant log so I could attach it to the 00 coolant log. Its very simple and jsut requires a bit of crafty work, one hole drilled. Its looks perfect and I didnt have to re-route any type of vac lines. Just something to think about. Also Im running NO EGR either.

I can snap some pics for you, but itll have to be tomorrow though
