need to determine optimal octane rating

I want to advance my timing (standard "Consult 2" way) and I'm trying to determine which octane rating will allow the timing to stay at 17 (won't be retarded by the knock sensor) and at the same time, there will be no pining.

If anyone knows or knows how to calculate it please share your thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. I know, it's not really an all motor question but I'm afraid that's the only section where this question can be answered. So mods, I'd appreciate if you could leave this thread in this section.

Also, guys, try to avoid posts like, "I got timing set to 17, use 91, and have no problems with pinging." Please, post here only if you are either sure that certain octane rating will result in maximum performance or if you know how to determine this.
