Well, I got the specs for TPS adjustment today at work, so I'm going tomorrow to ohm the TPS and set it and ohm the 5th gen IACV because I don't know that its good for a fact. If nothing else, my manager said he had a friend that could make the two front intake bolts that I need to torque the center of the intake down, so we'll see

So you actually only have 2 bolts holding the manifold down since the middle two are not tightened.

Something that has not been clearly answered for me yet: (Shawn I know I just asked you this last night but I still wasn't clear on it)-

The 97 EGR valve, will it mount up to the 00guide tube or am I going to have to get a new EGR valve? I just ordered my LIM, Guide tube, and lag bolts from Sacramento. The only piece to the puzzle Im missing now (I hope) is the fuel rail. If I can successfully tap my spare 4th gen LIM, then Im going to go with that instead.

All you need is the 00 EGR guide tube and nothing else to make the EGR work.

Good deal. I'll be finally installing this tomorrow- I've got 2 chances to tap the 4th gen lower, but I wasn't aware the 00vi lower has bfly plates in it also? I understand that some people believe that there is no gain in power by going the 2k LIM route, but is it beneficial in your opinion?

I think it makes a small positive difference but I can't prove it. Just based on opinion after comparing them and considering the geometries of the intake (upper and lower, angle with heads etc) as a whole.

There's also the benefit of the larger injectors that are top-feed not side-feed.

The thing I tsill haven't figured out is that I saw the picture of the retapped 4th gen lower, but if I turned the lower around 180 degrees, the back two bolts have nothing to tap into. There's not enough matieral to tap without running out of the side of the lower. Could I have the wrong UIM?

When I did my friends 96 we used a tapped 4th lower and he only had 2 in the middle and 1 on each side of the manifold. So only used a total of 4 bolts.

Call Dave B. The list price for it at your local friendly neighborhood stealership is like $40. It's like $20 at southpoint nissan.

I think what I'm going to do is get a couple of studs made with a short 8mm end for the 4th lower and a long 6mm stud for the upper. I had this done one time on a 5.0 that I had. That way I can torque those two middle bolts down and not have to worry about much else. As long as I can get the thing on and working before the SE area meet I'll be happy

Whichever way you do it you just want to make sure you have it held together well enough that you don't get any vacuum leaks between the upper and lower manifolds.

yeah....I could see how there would be a leak if they weren't tight. I did go over the upper-lower mounting surface with carb cleaner and couldn't locate any leaks, but its one less thing to have to worry about if I do it right
