anyone see a problem with doing this?

I think I am just going to do a 2.5" straight pipe off my Y pipe and probably go out the passenger side at a 45. Any ill effects from this? Remember my car is a "track only" car.

If your gonna do that might as well just run an open y-pipe and not even mess with the extra piping

Not sure what the current situation is, but on his cardomain page it says he is going to go boosted and I know I wouldn't want flames shooting out underneath my car. I'd much rather have them exiting to the side.

Why? it will have no bearing on open loop operation.

Yes. You can get rid of the cel with an O2 sensor emulator they sell on ebay.

Yeah if it is a track only car I would get rid of all the excess crap that you can and still have it run right in open loop, O2 sensors included. My car has no O2 sensors, EGR, etc.

The sensors themselves don't go in to closed or open loop the ECU does. In closed loop the ECU uses o2 sensors in addition to the MAF and TPS to control A/f and timing. When in open loop, which is anything above about 50% throttle, the ECU only uses MAF and TPS to follow set maps given a particular rpms. So basically, when at the track, o2 sensors play no part. The CEL will come on but this is a track car right? So who cares.

Right. Refereing to open loop as saying that the ECU does not read through O2 or EGR circuit.
