Extra Parts After Adding Spacers

2005 maxima

i was changing out my rear lug studs to add 5mm spacers and to do so i had to take off the brakes/calipers/rotors - i reassembled everything and when done rolled the car ~6 feet and heard what sounded like glass breaking but it appears instead it was metal on metal perhaps instead

it happened on both the left and right side (at least i was consistent heh) - after i was done i noticed the scraping sound and when i removed everything again it seems i had a new extra part - what is this part and should i replace it immediately before driving? i have the full repair manual and i can't seem to find this part - i thought it may be the pad retainer but it's not

any ideas?
