Tokico Illuminas - Recently changed adjustable settings and...

wow, what a difference. I went from 3-4 to 4-4 and it feels so much more planted when turning. I had been riding 3-3 since i installed them and changed the rears to 4 when it was getting a bit bouncy, but switching the fronts made the most significant difference.

I'm going to try 5-5 for kicks.

I rode on 5-5 for the heck of it a while back. Crappy roads at my University made the interior rattle and creak so much.

Mine are on 3-3 all the time. I don't dare go any higher than that with the roads here. I'm already tracking down enough creaks and rattles as it is, I don't need more to find that I don't know about yet

If you like the jump from all 3 to all 4, i suggest trying 4F / 5R it will be really nice.

I've found keeping the rears at 4 is ideal for almost all settings. I change the fronts to 3 for travelling (great highway composure) and to 4 or 5 if I want more handling. I love being able to change the behavior of the car in 10 seconds.

To those of you with the rear seat to 4 or 5...doesn't the ride suck? Do all of you live in areas with perfectly smooth pavement or do you not care that the back end of the car is super stiff? It's an honest question. I've never had mine on anything stiffer than 3 (quite in fact I bought the car with them on at 3 and have never changed them).

I am in PA too and can say I experience pretty bad roads regularly from downtown to the mountains. Yeah it is definately stiff and not comfy in harsh conditions, but you kinda get used to it and its not all that bad, I usally have that set up for the warmer months april-september. Right now for the colder months I am on 1~2F / 3R and its a different car.

Interesting. As it is I have to avoid potholes and stuff anyway, so I guess it's not a big deal of I decide to go up a notch or two in the back this spring. A little late now, though.

Funny thing is, even lowered and on 3-3, my friends think my car rides really comfortably (other than if I hit a bump and the people in the back seat get their teeth jarred thanks to the solid axle...you know). I think it's because their cars are all pieces of crap and even mine with stiffer suspension STILL rides better.

Yeah definately, you have to avoid them anyway and they are going to be horrible either way wether your on soft or stiff settings. I havent had too many complants from the back passengers yet.

I definately like having the back 1 notch stiffer than the front period.

Curious to What springs everyone running (especially shady) because thay may change what were feeling also. I have H&R.

I'm on Progress springs, personally.

Does having the rear 1 stiffer than the front help dial out understeer or what?

I'm running 18" Muranos, and I set mine to 5/5 and my girl doesn't mind. Tell your friends to suck it up.

I've been on 5/5 since the day I put them on, don't plan on softening them anytime soon.

when i installed mine i set them to 2/3.. then went to 3/3 and finally ended on 4/4. gave the car a nice stiffer feel but hit bad bumps and manholes jars the car something crazy. i recently set them to 2/2 due to living in Mass (real sh!tty roads and highways) and the weather getting into freezing temps and figured the fluid would get a bit thicker thus making the ride feel like 3/3. 2/2 isnt really bad. much better than stock in ride comfort. once spring and summer comes back ill start upping again. also i ride on sprint springs so that may be the real culprit in the ride quality or lack thereof.

i forgot to mention i have the ltb stage II and thats prolly why 1 in the front isnt too sloppy..... I can imagine how bad it would be set on 1 and no LTB.
