Does anyone bleed with the car running?

I'm going to be helping a buddy with an E46 upgrade his brake fluid this weekend. After bouncing around on some of their forums it looks like people are having good results with bleeding with the car running to help cycle fluid through the ABS unit. Has anyone taken this approach on a Maxima/Nissan?

I've never heard of anyone doing this, but I did not think the fluid circulated with the car on.

Other brands of cars are different.

You may try bleeding it with the car on, but I believe the FSM specifically says to make sure car is off to keep from freaking out the ABS computer.

I have always been able to get a good bleed with the car off and doing the regular way, so I don't see a huge need to fiddle with the system. :shrug:

I have always done it this way also, we did his M3 the same way and everything went well.
