^^There are principles of suspension that remain true across the board no matter what generation maxima is being considered. Matt knows these things.

But, to be objective and hopefully help out here I have been riding on D2's for almost 4 years now (40000ish miles) I believe. I have also rode in a friends 5th gen several times with K sports. Im sure you know by now that these are almost identical units. Some argue K sports are better due to small design differences and I would tend to agree, but I just got a real deal on the D2s. I would not bother with the Teins personally even though I havent had them since they arent fully adjustable. Have not had experience with Boss Chens either so Ill leave that alone as well.

I will say Ive had this setup with 18, 19, and 20 inch wheels and overall I cant complain. Downtown roads here in Raleigh suuuuuck so yea larger wheels plus coilovers in this setting are pretty harsh. Have to remember though, as stated on the packaging, these are for RACING applications, not crappy public roads. On the highway its a whole different story though. The car feels planted and rides very nicely. Im sure JICs ride better by comparison, Im just not personally at a point financially yet where I can afford those.

I have regularly greased and cleaned the mounts and tightened the allen screws on the collar and RARELY if ever hear any kind of clicking noise from them. Maintenance is key here though bc they will get obnoxious if you neglect them.

I think the main reason I chose to go with them on my daily driver is IMHO I cant get the drop that I want with decent suspension travel with a spring/strut setup. This is obviously mostly personal preference but its the route I chose to go.

Im soon going back to 18s bc the roads around here are so bad and I want a little more tire but I will be keeping these D2s till they die or I can get a new set. Ill probably change the spring rates though. I have 9, 7 right now and will probably change to 8, 6 soon. Anyway hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

Grant
