At the request of my Altima friends, I'm starting a Group Buy at NissanClub for Traction Rods. Since the designs are interchangeable between the Altimas and Maximas, I've started some threads here at the .ORG in case anyone wants them!
I haven't had a chance to see if these fit a 3rd gen or 5th gen/I35 yet though, so if anyone is in or near the Joplin or Springfield, MO area, please let me know, and if we can get them to fit I'll add them to the lineup!
Still going to work on making these happen, but it doesn't look like I'll get to be a "Forum Vendor" any time soon. However, I've been getting a lot of emails and PM's about these, so hopefully I won't make any mods/admins upset if I use this thread as a place for members to talk about the rods/etc as long as I don't try to start a group buy?

That's fine for now.

Just to keep you all updated, in about two weeks I'm going to have a small batch made for the 4th gens and 6th gens. Depending on how they sell, I'll come back with more in two weeks after that, including 5th gens and 7th gens as well.
3rd gens where you guys at? Are any of you interested in these? I'll make them for 3rd gens too if there's interest and if I can find a car around (which won't be too hard).
not 100%,.. but the I35 suspension design should be identical in terms of design to the 5th gen maxima.. there might be some differences such as 22mm vs 23mm sway bar size,.. but basically there the same ..always good seeing someone trying to get some products out there for the max in a small pool of options!
Also, I think I found someone with a 5th gen to make parts off of so expect those to follow the other Gens too. I'm getting a few rods powder coated next week so you should be able to see the final production version next week.
Decided to go for the best of the best: 7075 aluminum, only the best for my buyers!
Cut rods, ready to be tapped, finally:
Progress has been slower than I'd like, but I'd rather do these right than sloppy. I should have these done Monday, powder-coated and ready to ship. I'll post more details when the time comes, but they'll be for 4th and 6th gens, with 5th and 7th gens coming in the next batch (depends on the reception for these, of course!).
I35 will be the same as a 5.5 gen, I35 sport will be the same as 5.5 gen SE, but that only matters for spring rates and possibly swaybar, whihc won't make a difference.
Thanks for that info!
I've got an I35 and a 5th gen to measure on when the time comes for the next batch. If only spring rates and sway bar thickness are different then the control arm setup/undercarriage set up should be the same.
Nice to see there's still interest! I hate that I've made you guys wait so long, but these are coming along; there's been some external business bs I'm having to deal with first, but these are still coming out, hopefully only two weeks away (ugh). When they are ready, I'll do something nice for all of you to say thanks for the patience though.
i want in too! i've been looking for these forever and then just gave up...are you making them so you can swap them in and out or are these permanent fixture and will that affect steering?

They're completely bolt-in my friend, and easily removeable if need be!
I'm hoping my machine shop (which has been backed up) will be done early next week, then off to the powder coaters FINALLY. Getting close!
Lol, yes, I've seen that post. I don't mean to sound rude but those rods just don't look like quality parts worthy of $200.
I'm trying very hard to make my parts to be very high quality, and part of the reason is because, as someone that races his car regularly, I wouldn't make a part that I wouldn't want on my chassis. And I'm very picky
im in, would some one pm me or post how well these things actually help with traction? if someone wants to get the stage to lower tie bar, will this work?
Probably not; the mounting point for my traction rods is the rear subframe stud, so that means anyone with a lower tie brace II wouldn't be able to use them.

i see, thats fine, will these improve traction for the track the same way the jclass did?
