questions about KYBs - 99- 03? Fit?

Hi guys-- I am looking to get a new sets of struts for the front-- recently, there is a new noise "dunk, dunk, dunk..." on the right passenger side...I am thinking possibly it is the struts going.

For those who have changed them to the KYBs (I changed a set in my 97)-- does the KYBs fit between the 4th gen (95-99) and 5th (2000-2003?)...I see sets on EBAY but I just wanted to see if they are interchangeable before going forward with a set.

Btw, anyone have this "noise" with their cars? was it the struts?

"dunk dunk dunk" when you're driving along on smooth roads? Does it repeat like that or only when you go over bumps? Does it get faster as you drive faster?

If it's only when you go over bumps, does it happen when you turn too? Might be your strut(s), your strut mount(s), broken sway bar end link, etc.

They wont fit. The top bolt hole on the mount that goes to the knuckle is in a different spot. It can be drilled out to work though.

Not worth it unless u find a killer deal on a set for the wrong gen.

5 speed swap myths BUSTED:
1. Both driver and passenger side AUTO axles work fine.
2. AUTO flywheel bolts work fine.
