Nissan Quest front brakes are 11.4" diameter

11.42" x 1.10" (28mm thickness, for comparison with 300ZX rotors. Stock 4th gen rotors are 22mm thick and stock 3.0 5th gen rotors are 26mm thick, both 11.0" diameter, stock 3.5 5th gen rotors are 11.65" x 24mm). This was a 2006 model. Just throwing that out there. I'm probably going to be making another BBK soon, not sure what components I'll be using, but I want to go the absolute largest I can while still fitting under a 15" wheel.

To answer the obvious question, no these will not bolt right on to a 4th gen or 3rd gen torque member without you doing a decent amount of grinding on the torque member to fit both the larger than stock diameter and thickness. It could be done though.

Front calipers on the quest are also 2 piston models, "similar" to my J30 front calipers (don't know if they are identical, my buddy did the brake job on his neighbor's quest and said they looked "similar" to my J30 twin piston front calipers, not sure if they are the same or not. Also not sure if Quest front caliper would bolt to maxima torque member, or if quest torque member would bolt to 4th gen steering knucle. Anything's possible though, would be nice if the quest torque member bolted right to the steering knuckle, who knows if we're that lucky though.

Rear quest brakes are 12.1" btw, according to the FSM.

A few calipers I am curious about are the dual piston used on later non-Brembo G/Z cars, the dual piston on Xterras, and the dual piston calipers on the base 370Z.

Keep in mind you're probably going to have CRAP brake pad selection for a Quest- unless it uses pads from something else- Maxima or Pahtfinder or something... that's usualyl the case.

At least figured I'd give you fair warning before you build a brake kit around a certain caliper- make sure you can get good pads for it!!

You also might want to look at some of Wilwood's options for calipers and see if you can make something to fit with them. Try maybe a dynalite caliper with an 11.75" or so rotor... Hmmm.. what 15" wheels are you trying to get to fit?
I'll see if the stock Maxima wheels will fit over the brake kit I have on the 240..

following.. let me know if you find something that would fit under a 15-16" wheel. and what would be needed to make it work..im not afraid of grinding a little .ive always wanted a BBK.. but i have winter wheels that are 16" ..and i plan on picking up some track wheels~15" and well.. those kinda limit my options..

The brakes above are what I originally designed to fit under my ooooold (like 10 sets ago!) 16x7 wheels. They were pretty small internally too due to the 3-pc wheels, so they'll quite possibly fit under a 15" wheel. it's pissing down rain right now, but I'll check sometime later when it quits raining.

I'd have to look up the specs, but yeah it's around 11.75" x 1.25". It's identical to an R32 GTR non-Brembo rotor (what I used to use before I made these 2-pc rotors).

and yes.. wilwood forged Dynalite. great little caliper for cheap, but I wouldn't use it on a Maxima unless you have to. too much flex for such a heavy car, but they work great on my 2500lb 240SX.

Dynalites are what I have been thinking of using at this point, but I haven't done extensive research on various caliper options yet. Just kind of piecing together rotor information currently.

The wheels that they'd absolutely have to fit under would be my 15x8" Rota Slipstreams that my drag slicks will be going on.

2 pc 300zx rotors from Automax and a set of 4 piston 300zx TT calipers would fit under a 16" wheel. ie.. a 300z wheel.

heh guess that does make sense lol..

would it be safe to assume.. any 16" wheel would fit ? IE- OEM 00 maxima wheels and 16 " steelies?

what about the 4piston N/A calipers.. would they fit.. but are they not a good idea because they are steel not aluminum? basically.. the downside being extra weight?...sorry for the noobish ?

also.. in terms of parts.. i would only need a bracket to get these to fit right?.. i thought i remember you selling this bracket at one time jeff.. is that right?

No. Not any 16" will clear. spoke design has to be correct. for a 300zx rotor / 300zx caliper combo, no brackets needed but you might have to shave the dia of the rotor down a few mm. Then it's basicly bolt on w/ the conversion brake lines.

My bracket is if you want to step up to the 13" cobra rotor (17" min wheel required).

You should use any 300zx 4 piston that's the 30mm size. (not the 26mm). Steel or aluminum is okay.
