For all the 12.6" rotor users. OEM bbk, 6th gen, Altima, oem G/Z users etc.

RacingBrake is going to use their oem Brembo 2pc hat with a new rotor to accomodate anyone using the oem 12.6" rotor. So anyone using the 1pc now have a way to save a bunch of weight using the 2pc. RB hasn't traditionally been cheap though but I think they are going to offer an indroductory price.

We later found out other than the dimension difference, the pad height is not the same either, while our rotor ring surface (where pad sweeps), is cut to fit the pad height (rest of area is coated with EDP to prevent rusting), so a new disc is designed, and a pre-order sales price will be offered.

Kevlo I'd try to keep my eye on that thread to see if they have an introductory price or something.

the 14lb weight is really appealing. That's 1lb lighter then my original 11.5" rotors and 3 lbs lighter than the 06 12.6" rotors I'm on now.

Hey Matt just curious how much do the replacement rotors cost for the Blehmco 2 piece rotors? I'm definitly having fun with mine on the track but they are getting chewed up. I maybe in need of a replacement set sometime next season.

Joe.. Ballpark of $135 each- custom made from Coleman for me.
hit me up when you're ready and I'll do a count on what I have. if I have more rotors than hats (very possible), then I'll sell you a pair of rotors out of the stock we have left from the initial purchase and we won't have to custom order anything.

Alright I will keep that in mind. I had the rotors turned and that seemed to work for daily driving.

Kind of off topic but on the track I am still getting a ton of steering wheel vibration when I brake extremely hard. The car didn't have this with the stock brakes and i still used track pads back then. I have a feeling this is do to the softer '90 aluminum calipers but im not sure. I don't know of anyone else who uses the 300ZX caliper BBK like I do other than yourself and IIRC you used iron 300ZX calipers on your car. All the bushings and suspension parts on my car are almost new so I don't think it could be anything else but the calipers/BBK.

What pads are you running on it?
Pick up a set of Hawk Blue pads and run them on the car for a few laps, then change back. I have a feeling the vibes will go away.

Eventually we'll probably get around to another batch, but we've had a lot of changes in the business lately. we're not sure what's going to be done with it right now, but we will post news when there's something official.

I'm running the Carbotech XP8s which I think are harsher than the Hawk blues. The Hawk HP+ also caused the same problem but they wore alot faster than the XP8s. My thought is alot of cementite has formed on the rotor surface and there is nothing I can do but turn the rotors again or buy new blanks.

Also having a longer torque arm for my brake caliper is making the oscillations alot worse than stock. I wished I filmed this last track event the steering wheel vibration is comical along with the caliper knockback im getting. Not so funny when driving the car at the limit as it effects my lap times.

I think the reason he recommended blues is that they are an abrasive pad only (no material transfer). They will scrub off whatever pad material you have on the rotors to give you a fresh surface, then you can run your normal pads again.

Quick question on BBK brackets...

I would like some 12.6 rotors on my max and i heard Matts sold his business so im out of luck. So my question, what is so complicated about these brackets that someone else cant fabricate for themselves? And of course using the correct materials..

Ah ok that makes sense. The XP8s need bedding to transfer some pad material to the rotor surface.

We thought we were going to have to sell the business, but things have worked out and we have another fab guy going to help out. Business is still moving. There are several sets of brackets in stock and ready to ship.

Morpheus was spot on with the reasoning behind my comments. that was recommended to me from Stoptech when one of my Z customers was having problems with vibrations on the f/r Stoptech setup on his Z32.

As I thought Racing Brake put this deal 6 ft under. Severe lack of interest from the Z/G/maxima crowd.

I have 300zx tt aluminum calipers with Hawk HP+ pads on my 05 Maxima. No vibration at all at the track. I stand on the pedal and it stops great.
