Can they take the drop? Yes. You will be riding on the bump stops though so why bother with suspension at all? I doubt we even have that much compression travel from the factory.

Even shortened struts (Koni cartridges) will be seeing lots of bump stop action with a 2.75" drop. Get full tap coilovers if you want to ride that low, and be prepared to buy axles every few months.

im on k sports now and im about that low. had them for almost 2 yrs no need for axles yet. just that im tired of the noise and the bouncyness of the coilovers

I only stayed that low for about 10 minutes because whenever I got on it I'd feel my CV joints wanting to explode. YMMV I guess.

Anyway anything short of full tap coilovers will ride horribly with a 3" drop. If you want a better ride, get better coilovers (JICs or maybe Progress since they have shortened strut bodies) or be the first to try and retrofit Konis into ksport housings (think some Mazda guys have done it).

Bottom line though nothing is going to ride much short of harsh with coilover-like spring rates and pillow balls. With camber plates, shortened Konis and GCs my ride was fine for me, but I felt bad when others rode with me sometimes (never got any complaints though). Firm and solid are among the terms I'd use.

oddly enough i got some compliments on my tokico/GC setup... solid handling on sweepers. might be the SS-595's lol. but yeah i do feel bad when other ride in my car, not to mention all the rubbing and exhaust bangning on the rear beam thats associated with that extra weight too.

my opinion should hopefully change this month with the fronts coming out.

I got plenty of handling compliments (so fun to rail on that car) and I loved the way the car rode. But I can't imagine it was winning me many points with the chicks, which is all that matters anyway.

Yeah, if you ever get around to buying them.
