Got my fenders rolled...

Well I was debating getting it done for a while, but after realizing my rear drivers side fender was also eating my tires in addition to the passenger side, I had it done. I don't have any pics yet, and there's really not much to say about it except now I can load up my car and/or auto-x without the fear of my tires disintegrating. It was done properly with the cool little machine; no cutting or hammers needed. It was $100, and it's one less thing to worry about now I'll get pics if anyone wants them....How many other people have had it done? BTW, I'm on Konis/Eibachs with 235/45/17 tires.

I did it a few years ago with the roller at a local shop. $25 per corner.
(actually it was free for me since I know the guy, but he charged $25/corner for other people)

Ive been wanting this done for a while but only one shop in my town seems to do it and they want 50.00 a corner.
Ive considered doing it myself but Ive heard a lot of horror stories of cracking the paint.
You guys that rolled them yourselves, did you use a heat gun to avoid cracking the paint?

My paint cracked cause I didnt use a heat gun. It's nothing major at all though. I'm getting it redone when I get my sides painted.

1. Both driver and passenger side AUTO axles work fine.
2. AUTO flywheel bolts work fine.

You MUST use a heat gun. I tried it without one on a small section of fender and it cracked. I tried it a month later after I had bought a heat gun and no cracking. I'm probably gonna have a shop finish them. I need a full 90* roll to fit my wheels with the new spacers. Hopefully its not $50 a corner.

Im not coming out of pocket for 2 bills to buy the thing nor am I going to pay that to have it done.
BUT, if I did have cash like that to throw around I still wouldnt have time to do everyones, but renting it out would be a good option.
The shop I spoke to says they will rent their roller out for 65.00 over the weekend so I will most likely do that,.... once it gets nice out again.
Once my fenders are rolled I will be lowering the coilovers a bit more.

Did you keep on driving on the tires that were eaten? If so, could you post pictures of the damage? I can't tell whether the damage to my sidewalls is significant or merely superficial.

Absolutely. You can assure yourself if theres black rubber residue somewheres on the inner fender where it was rubbing. Still very driveable tho.
