Suspension Setup

Here is what is going on. I have an 05 SE which seems to have a shot suspension. There is popping noises coming from the front as well as a squeaking noise in colder weather when hit bumps while turning. So I want to change everything out. I was thinking of getting 4 KYB GR-2 Shock/Struts. What else is needed? Do i need strut mounts? Springs?

Please advise.

From what I've read about here, popping sounds come from wheel bearings and bad axles. So unless you were planning on getting new suspension anyways, I'd make sure that these things aren't shot before before you spend $500 dollars on replacing everything just to realize that the problem is still there.

Well I already had one strut replaced a while back. But it def seems that there are issues with the suspension. So what do you all think?

New strut mounts may fix the squeaking, new springs would lower the car and make it handle a little better. But get someone to check out the popping.

right front wheel bearings are very common on 6th gens for some reason. dunno why, but I've replaced a bunch of them for customers.
Main issue I think is that the 180ft-lb spec'd in the FSM is too low. a couple of the ones I've replaced and torqued to 180 have come loose within a few months. fortunately the guys I did that to knew what a bad bearing felt like and brought it back to me before it did any major damage.

Since then, I've been torquing them down to about 250ft lb and haven't had any problems with any cars since.. about 10 of them now...
