Eibach ground controls w/o koni's

So how would this experiment work out? Would the shortened koni's make that much of a difference? I have Illuminas and H&R right now and the rear sags too much for my taste. Honestly, I don't even need this much of a drop. I would be happy with a 1inch drop and a smoother ride(when I have multiple passengers). I was thinking about putting some stock SE springs in the rear to see how that looks. But then I started thinking about using some Eibach ground controls assuming they would work fine with a regular long strut. I see that they have different ground controls for each type of strut and I can choose my own spring rates. But I do not know which one I would want since I am looking for a better ride than performance. Any input would help or even a thread move

If you want a smoother ride, then coilovers is not what you want...
stick with the H&Rs or go back to stock springs.

BUT.. if you do choose the GCs, you can sue the stock-length struts with them, just don't drop the car that much and they won't bottom out.

The reason people use shortened struts is to get suspension travel back after they drop the car too far for the stock stuff. If you don't want much of a drop, then you don't need all the $$$ parts.

then again if you're looking for a better, smoother ride, GCs aren't the direction you'll want to go. put a stock-type strut/spring setup on the car and call it a day.

matt is right, i have gc's and i love them...that being said they are far from the soft wavy ride that the car had when it was stock. my gcv's are fine and i have no problem ridding with them after nearly 4yrs.

I have an odd comment, while my car has very firm rates (380/500) With 5 people in the car it rode great to the smokey mountains and handled great while doing it. Without the extra weight though, NOT the ride you are looking for.

I thought you used a 450/450 setup? If I didn't already have excess ERS springs around (325) that arn't selling themselves I would (and probably will) go to a 450/500 setup (although to do over again I think I would go 450/450 ).

+1

I'm on 450/350 GCs with Illuminas at 5/5. not for the comfort minded, even with the Illuminas set at 3/4.
