well, it kind of depends what kind of upgrade you're looking for.....just pads? pads/rotors? pads/rotors/calipers? bigger rotors/calipers? etc et c.

Is it possible to use 35Z track edition rotors with the 300ZX calipers and Jeff's brackets? The size of the track edition rotors are 12.8" which isn't too far from 13". Let me know what you guys think as that would be more options in terms of rotors.
that's what i was thinking, but maybe if they are curved the other way they allow how air to flow out better?
When the vanes inside the rotors are curved, having them installed in the correct direction will make the rotor itself act as an air pump, effectivley "pumping" hot air out from inside the center of the rotor to it's outer edges and out through the outside while the rotor is turning.
Of coarse this only applies to curved-vane rotors...

No. the hat offset is different.

Finally painted my calipers and my one non-zinc coated rotor. In the process of the painting I realized that when I had my new tires installed 2 weeks ago that the shop put 2 hubcentric rings inside ONE wheel....so for two weeks my car was vibrating like a madman on the highway. Now the second ring is out and it's driving like normal, thank god.
I was wondering this too! it seems to be half half each way. which way is it suppose to be? pic please im a visual person. thanks!
I think it really only matters which direction the internal rotor cooling vanes are facing. They should dissipate heat away from the center of the rotor. As far as the direction of the slots on the surface, I always thought they function and look better when the outermost edge of the slot contacts the pad first (ex. 1fstmax's brake setup).
i too have that black and blue thing under the caliper that is attached to the brake pads. what does it do? i put the pad with that attachment on the inside of the caliper instead. what is it for?
Its the audible brake wear indicator. Once the pad is worn out, it will rub on the rotor and make a continuous screech noise- which will go away as you hit the brakes...
Stock pads are the same way, as far as A32-A34 go.
?? when your pads run low, the fluid level drops because it requires more brake fluid for the piston to push out the pads all the way, therefore your brake light goes on. many people know this about 4th gens. everytime my pads go low, my brake light comes on
As BlackBIRDVQ said, its just the sensor that hits the rotor when the pads run low. What brand pads are those Kev?? Usually the sensor is on one end of the pad itself. I have never seen it sticking out from that end towards the rotor's hub area.

that only works if your master cylinder is sized properly with your pistons and brake setup. when you go to the Z32 calipers, your master cylinder reservoir is too small to go by that. in fact, you'll run out of fluid in the reservoir before you run out of brake pad.

I actually just had to refill mine because of this. I'm running Q45 calipers though. Pads are fine.
