Polished looks nice when it's first polished, but over time it looks like sh!t if you don't keep them looking nice. Jeff polished the calipers and sprayed them with high temp clear before I bought the car. The clear is starting to peel off right now, but they still look ok. Eventually I'll re-polish them and have them powder coated clear...or maybe I'll just have them powder coated reflective chrome like you said. Although, I wouldn't say that polished aluminum looks gay by any means, it's just a PITA.
bare aluminum....and i didnt say polished looks gay i mean polishing brakes is gay....when u can send them to me to have refelctive chrome powder coat and when they get dirty u wash them with water and they look brand new
TTZ calipers with stock rears suck. I've always had beef about its brake bias. In the few months of having em on my car- like 6-8 months, I froze my rear calipers up and I pretty much had no brakes in the rear. On top of that I hated the added rotational mass the 04+ Maxima rotors had.
I'm back to stock cheap blank NAPA made in China 20 bux a piece rotors with Hawk pads, new rear calipers and my car stops better than those TTZ calipers ever did on my car but since this is a BBK thread here is some pics...

Ugh. I DID them because no one here at the time had them. I just wanted to see how long it would take. So got pics of yours?
Polishing brakes is no more "gay" than getting them powdercoated. Plus my clearcoat job lasted years. Not to bad for a 1st effort that cost $0
Not when all it cost me is an $10 can of powder and a couple hours in my garage......i would never pay to have it done....I havent done mine yet because i wasnt about to disassmle brand new calipers...however when i get a deal on some aluminum calipers used (mine are cast iron ) i will cause i will want to rebuild anyway....

you complain about the brake bias, but then say that your rear calipers were frozen (it happens, probably unrelated to the TTZ calipers).
Then you replace the rear calipers and go back to stock....perhaps you should have replaced the rear calipers firts...

Did you ever run aggressive pads in the rear and go to a lower friction front pad? you'd be amazed what swapping pad compounds will do for yout brake bias.

Kinda old pic, but its of the OG BBK from Precision Brakes, I beleive from the GD back in the day, 100K mi 6 sets of brake pads, 2 sets of rotors, and saving my life countless times when I needed it
Here's mine: 13" Cobra rotors, 2 Piston Infiniti Q45 Calipers, TechnaFit SS lines, Hawk HPS Pads, Motul RBF600 fluid. 17" Motegi DP6 wheels. First off they setup is outstanding. 2nd I don't like the rims to begin with (came with the car when I bought it). 3rd if you have these rims and are looking for a BBK, no way will a Z32 caliper fit, the Q45's had to be "milled" down with a dremel to clear the inner barrell.
But as for the brake setup, nothing compares. The old brembo replacements doesn't hold a candle.

Irish, I believe your rotor vanes are directionally curved. If so, the rotors are installed on the incorrect side, you'll need to swap them. The vanes need to point backwards towards the rear of the car.
If they are straight vaned (pointing vertically outwards) like stock, then it doesn't matter.
