Reference Thread: SUSPENSION, CHASSIS, AND HANDLING TOPICS (links)
This thread is the clearinghouse for all suspension and chassis-related discussions, as well as general handling discussions. Please post links down in thread and we'll try to add them as appropriate.
P.S. I want to thank the admins for putting this up. I really hope this forums brings a lot of information and discussion to the more advanced suspension modiifcation and not the normal lowering threads.

They also have FAQs (but ignore all the StopTech products and WRX questions):
I think that is exactly what needs to be done to streamline and reduce search times...
Actually, now that I think about it, this was supposed to be an ADVANCED Handling Forum. I'm still struggling with where to draw the line as far as the links go, since the generation specific forums suffice for basic suspension upgrades and how-tos. We'll leave all our basic generation links in this thread for now, but I doubt they belong in the main categories just yet.
Just an FYI... the only difference between 3,4,5,6 gen front brakes is the rotor/caliper size and the bolt size.. 3 and 4 gens use a 12mm bolt. 5 and 6 gens use a 14mm bolt.
so you could simply drill a 3/4 gen knuckle to 14mm bolts and bolt up any brake system from a 5/6 gen.
Thus, anything to do with the front brakes need not be gen-specific. anything that will fit on a 3 gen will fit on a 6 gen.
the rear brakes are much more complicated as they are different between 3, 4/5, and 6 gen. (4/5 gen use the same rear brakes). so there's some differences there. otherwise the theory and parts are the same for all maxima brake systems.
Here are some threads about JClaw's traction bars for 4th gens. He is obviously selling them via the threads but they are also good sources of info on a great mod:
FYI, I've added more links to threads with info on Z32 brakes for 4th through 6th Gens. Feel free to point out more good ADVANCED threads out there, thanks.
You can check www.archive.org for archived pages. I know MaxMods is on there. I think the site is dead now, though. The guy who started it sold his Maxima a year or two ago so he wasn't maintaining it.

Old thread but OK, what type of coilovers and how many adjustment points? Lowering springs will bring your ride down depending on the drop advertised where as coilovers give you an option for multiply heights and adjustments. The trade off with coilovers is normally a stiffer ride and if you live in an area with smooth roads, you'll love them, if you live someplace with sh*tty roads you're going to feel a lot more of the shock vibration throughout the car on bumps, etc. Normally quality coilovers are the overall best for performance handling improvement...
okay so ive got a 2004 i35 allready bought some 20's but hate the way it sits factory the front is higher what my best route for lowering it? to make it sit perfect??
