Blue Smoke, PCV and Valve Cover

Been noticing a blue tailpipe smoke on remote start, like an oil burn-off for a few seconds, and almost daily.
weeks went by and decided to pull front 3 spark plugs. … not good!

Spark plugs Threadings glistening w oil, plus burnt porcelain.

ordered front and back VC online for under $90 and comes w everything ( gasket, seals, bolts and pvc), and new spark plugs from stealership.
also Replaced the VC-to-VC vacuum hose as a crack noticed.

surgery lasted about 3 1/2 hours.

culprit : stuck pVC valve.

I firmly believe that the PCV valve is neglected during routine maintenance, and easily forgotten. Until there is a problem, like you experienced, no one pays attention to the PCV.

My household has owned VQ35 Altima and Maxima since 2007. I use spray carb cleaner to clean the PCV every 25,000 miles.

This video was followed ( not my first time doing this surgery). Identical to our Gen engine.

my ‘11 has 330k miles and I beleive I replace the valve about 100k. Went and pulled the valve and this too was stuck.

🤜🏽cleaner worked….🤛🏽
