2001 i30, squealing sound at times.
Hello guys, I've been a 3rd gen maxima guy forever, but just bought my first 2001 i30. So far, it's great, just needs minor repairs here and there as you would expect from an 11 year old car.
The current issue is that when the engine is running, and i accelerate or open the throttle at all from idle, I get a squealing noise. It's almost like something being 'wound-up' or something. It only lasts for about 2 seconds, and is not a typical belt or pulley sound.
It's almost as if something is auto-adjusting or something along those lines. The only other time I notice it is after i turn OFF the engine. The engine will come to a complete stop, wait a second and then "whhhrrrrrr" for approximately 2 seconds. (only it's higher pitched than that, lol.)
I did do the customary 'pre-post search', but didn't find my exact problem in the forum. Any ideas?

It's definitely not a belt, it's not related to RPM's at all. Due to the lack of responses here, I've left the i30 section and posted to the maxima side. I won't be frequenting the i30 forums any longer, they're too dead.
Thanks though.

Thanks mad! I ended up leaving the i30 forums for the 5th gen forums, they are much more active and cover the same problems as this one, but way faster, lol. I think I'm done here man, it's too dead, and I've had 7 maximas in total, so they're my peeps. :P
