'94-03 Rear Brake Upgrade option...12.3"
Head on over to www.fastbrakes.com and take a look at the 12" Upgrade Big Brake Kit for the '94-03 Maximas. <--kit no longer sold online, call Brian for details
I called Fastbrakes (602-323-2110) and spoke to Brian regarding the kit. The relocation kit comes with a bracket, to relocate the stock caliper so you can still use the stock parking brake without issue, and a 12.3" rotor whereas a stock '03 Maxima rotor is 10.9"
The kit on fastbrakes.com is $300+shipping but if you call you can get a blank rotor for $50 less from Brian.
...this rear BBK kit would go great with the Dual Piston G35 front calipers and 12.6" rotors! (thanks Aackshun!)

100% correct...can you view the pic above in my original post? It is only the 12.3" rotor and caliper relocation bracket.
If the site is down you can call Brian directly...602-323-2110...I did this mainly to inquire about a less 'fancy' rotor option since there isn't one listed on the website.

Would be great to see a kit installed. I've been wanting to balance out my AP kit for some time. Brian Hasty from FB was very helpful when we did the GB for the first(?) Wilwood Superlite BBK way back with 12.2" rotors.

Heat dissipation (better fade resistance) and better braking torque/force are the main benefits of larger rotors.
...unless you're into aesthetics as well then it's a nice thing to go from 10.9" to 12.3". lol

Stock caliper allows for a 0.35" (8.9mm) thick rotor. A vented rotor in that width would increase the chances of rotor warp.
At least with a 1.4" larger diameter the heat can dissipate better...paired with some good pads and this is still a worthy upgrade.
(I ordered some AXXIS ULT pads to go on my setup in the rear and Deluxe going on the 12.6" fronts...I don't track but my main goal was to get a better brake bias than with 'just' a front BBK)

The calipers are not a direct bolt-on if mated with a 12.6" rotor. The holes line up just fine on the 5th gen knuckle, no problem there, but there is just a little bit of scraping from the rotor to the inside of the caliper. Just like the 6th gen caliper setup, you either have to mill the 12.6" rotor down or you can do what I'm in the process of doing and mill down the surface area of the caliper itself. They're iron so milling down 3mm from the caliper shouldn't be an issue.
The G35 dual-piston calipers are definitely an upgrade over the 6th gen setup anyway...just not as direct of a bolt-on than we hoped.

Waiting for the final results as well. Actually if it is a legit part I will order this rear kit ASAP. As I need more rear brake bias using the front BBK and don't want to spend a small fortune getting a used rear 300ZX BBK.

at the fake Brembos. Though in all fairness most people who run these BBKs never see any track time. Might as well fake it and save the $$$ if your never going to use them for their intended purpose.

Small Write-up
Before I get into the write-up I just wanted to warn that this kit can take closer to 2 weeks between when you order and when the kit ships. I believe Brian is a one-man operation and he has to take the Honda 12.3" rotor to a machine shop to have the hub grinded wider to accept Nissan's hubs.
During the whole process Brian has been very easy to deal with and I consider him to be honest and knowledgeable with what he says. Easy to communicate with...just a little slow. lol
Also the instructions provided are written instructions only. There really isn't much 'know-how' needed to install these if you're familiar with brakes already. Some DIYers are more used to fancy pictures like NWP provides.
My write-up is a bit short on the process because I mainly feel like if you are getting this kit then you're most likely mechanically-inclined enough to figure the process out. It really isn't that hard, 4 bolts that need turning for the brakes to come off. Hardest part is the parking brake.
Now, onto the fun:

Ok so I finally got around to 're'installing my set last night. I originally received the kit 2 weeks ago which included:

Got everything installed but noticed one fault. The caliper didn't match up with the full face of the rotor, causing around 5mm of pad overhang. Ugh
So I emailed Brian at Fastbrakes and he said the problem was because he thought I had the older rear rotors (4th gen?) which were smaller and thus less distance for the torque bracket to actually fit, causing the pad overhang. No issue, he said he would order new torque brackets for me and send them out.

Fast forward to last weekend and I received the new torque brackets.

Looked different so I was hesitant to try installing without calling Brian…I started installing anyway.

Bolted everything back and set out to bed in the brakes properly. As of last night/right now, I am on stock front brakes so my driving impressions are more clearly geared to what the rear upgrade has accomplished. I can tell the rear brakes are biased over the fronts right now, which is inevitable running my stock fronts. I was able to lock up the rears pretty easily whereas in the past I mainly felt the fronts doing all the work. I know it’s only my ‘impression’ of how the brakes feel now but I can definitely tell the rears are much stronger.
I should be installing some new (larger) fronts tonight but that’s for another thread.
