Im planning on debadging my max tomorrow. I am going to use blow dryer and fishing line but i have a question. I just found an old bottle of a product called goo gone. It says it removes tape residue, glue and wet paint. Does anybody know this product and do you think its safe to use on the paint on car? Also i was going to use a clean old tshirt to remove it. Is that safe?
I debadged. Use the heat gun and really get it warm before trying to peal off the MAXIMA with a fingernail. I left a lot of residue on teh trunk, but didn't want to risk scratching the paint. SO I used a lot of Goo Gone. I finally gave up after a got a bunch off, but again, I didn't want to risk the paint scratches. I then used a clay bar to get the last bits off. After I did all of this, the trunk is 100% residue free. I then threw some wax on there... finished.
It took longer than I had planned on, but worth everything when you don't scratch the paint.
