I want to replace the stock halogen bulb in my 2009 max. with the sylvania silverstar ultra whites, 4000k. My question is what kind of bulb is the stock bulb. does it already come with these bulbs stock. I was told that they come with them already. If not is it even worth it because the stock bulbs are pretty bright. My 2nd question is does anyone know how to change them I heard behind the wheelwells. If so is it a pain in the ***. My 3rd question are the halo bulbs better than sylvania I can get halo halogen bulbs 7500k for 39.99 now thats alot brighter than the sylvania bulbs but are they good bulbs. thank you.

whatever you do, avoid those "halo" bulbs unless you want blue headlights that are about as bright as a candle. "7500k" doesn't mean that it's almost twice as bright as "4000k". Halogen burns at around 3200K. To get a "7500K" color from a 3200K bulb, they have to add insane amounts of tinting to the bulb, which will cut output to terrible, terrible levels.
I am looking at adding the stock ballast and D2S bulbs to my SV. If I were to add the Bulb Holders for the D2S to the Halogen housing, would this work (epoxying bulb holder to stock housing)? I have found stock Ballasts, Bulb Holders and bulbs. Just don't know if this is worth the hassle over getting Rebased D2S bulbs with non stock ballasts. Any input would be great.
