Question Question: Driver seat comfort!

First off, this post is not related to the problem with the rocking driver seat (which I do have).

Does anyone have a problem with the comfort of the leather driver seat with the seat thigh support extension? I find it feels like there is a bar at the end of the leather seat and junction or start of the thigh support extension that puts pressure on the bottom of my thighs. I just got back from a 200mile road trip and my leg has been sore for several hours and during the drip I could not get comfortable for the life of me. It is more apparent on the right side of the seat. If I place my hand at the end of the seat (next to junction with thigh support extension) and push down, I can feel something hard (like the edge of the main seat sticking up). Can someone else let me know if this is a problem and if they feel this hard piece in the seat on the right side of the seat? I will try to take some pictures and post.....

Thanks,

Is this not something you would have looked into before you purchased the car?

It did not seem to be a problem up until about 3 weeks ago. I have had the car for 3 months.

Well, I'm in my car over 3 hours a day and haven't noticed that particular issue (I have the climate controlled seat) I do know that, for me, having the thigh support extended requires less of a seat "tilt" than without it and, for the most part, I leave it "normalled."

Having said all that, I have noticed that it appears as if the gap caused by extending the thigh support makes me feel as though the seat is a bit less padded but I attributed that to my long legs and not spending enough time adjusting everything to suit!

No problems for me, I'm 5'11. Is size or weight an issue?

I'm 6'2", 190lbs and I think the seats are some of the most comfortable i've been in. Took a 4.5 hour trip to the Adirondacks and coulda gone longer (comfort wise, NOT sanity)

I agree with the comfort....beats most of the seats I've ever been in (6'4" 250lbs)

These seats have been very comfortable for both my wife and myself. I never extend the thigh support except for brief periods to give a 'different' feel on long trips, at which time, just like LtLeary, I also tilt the seat very slightly (raise the back portion of seat bottom and drop the front portion of seat bottom).

I feel this thigh support works best when it does not press firmly against the bottom of the thigh, but simply offers a gentle hint of support.
