Rims and Tires

Lately, I've been doing a lot of thinking about what Rims and Tires would best go with the new Max.

My stock rims and tires look ok but it seems as someone mentioned earlier that a Deep Dish Rim with an aggressive Tire package would look very nice and help to bring out the car's aggressive looking shoulders even moreso than they are now.

I would love to hear all opinions of you fellow orgers here. I've found this Rim but no Tire package as of yet to go with it, I really need your suggestions.

I don't like chrome but this Rim here is an exception for me because it has Deep Dish and Carbon Fiber that I think would look good on a Max.

Thanks in advance

Yeah, i agree with you, i dont care for too much chrome, I would be worried about the carbon fiber look on there, it looks like a sticker of carbon fiber. If it is then that could get torn to all hell by the guy mounting the tires, plus how well will it hold up to everyday driving. They have real carbon fiber rims, but $$$$$$. I have seen some nice ones from racing hart ( RS-721 ) that look like they would fit nice, but i also like what Rays eng. has and there sub companies, not too flashy but damn pimp, plus light as hell.

Well I do not know if the Carbon fiber is just taped on or is actually carbon fiber because I haven't seen them in person (yet) nor have I priced them either.

I'll check the Racing Hart Rims you suggested to see what they look like but I'm not looking for an all Carbon Fiber Rim either. I prefer something lightweight in Hyper Silver but has the Deep Dish look.

If you have any suggestions then please recommend.
Thanks for the other rim recommendation.

Take Your Time

After several phone calls and emails to DTD I finally made my decision. I selected the 20" Konigs Hot swaps Mirror Finish with the carbon fiber inserts mounted on Falkens 452's 245/35/20. They advised me that the 09 has the same set up deminsions as the 08's. My dad and I mounted them on Saturday in the garage however it was raining heavily in PA. I took a few pics with the overcast, they came out ok but not great. Well today was bright and sunny and the rims look OUTSTANDING!!! The mirror finish sparkles when the light hits it and the carbon fiber inserts offsets the radiant silver color. The rim size also gives it an aggressive stance. Everyone stops and stares at the car everywhere I go. I will take off the nissan emblems tomorrow. The handling did not change and look AWESOME....

One problem the TPMS sensor came on after about 15 miles. DTD told me to fine the reset button for the monitor to recalibrate the system to the new sensor. They originally told me that they where the same ones as the stocks. I may have to go to the dealer and have them do it. Just take your time and go with your gut on your selection. I am a noob so I will have to hit my 15 before I can Upload Pics but when I do I will let you know.

I am not into bling bling but I saw these 20" Stern ST-1 Face III Beast on a G35 and believe these would look even hotter on a 09 max. Do not know the weight of them though.

I'm trying to figure out if my rims and tires I have from my charger will fit on my 09 Maxima. Tires are 265/35/22. Anyone?

I think that will be a little to big for the wheel well. You might run into some rubbing issues.

I like spokes more too but I prefer the spokes like the ones that ICW had on the Arachnids (no longer in production). I have a set of ICW Arachnids on my 2000 Maxima and they looked hott, everybody used to ask me what kind of rims they were, too bad they don't make them anymore.

Sup guys, well I guess this is a case of bringing the mountain to your :P, im selling my volks, mine are mercury silver, 2600 shipped (2400 picked up, located in SOCAL) with tires that have about 80% left, thats half of what they actually cost. and they are in as new condition, only one wheels has a very small rash, can't see it if you are standing up next to the wheel.
and yes they are real 2 piece wheels
they are 20X8.5 all around, I'll check for the offset later today.

http://www.upgrademotoring.com/wheels/gt-c.htm

20x8.5 all around almost new tires and about 1.75" lip.

It seems that most ppl here who bought an 09 seem very satisfied with their stock rims, I would've expected more ppl to want a bigger, if not, better looking rims.

I like my stock rims but they would look much better as a deep dish set up or in hyper-silver (I do not like chrome).

Are there just not enough ppl who own 09 Maximas here or is everyone who has one just satisfied with what they have in their stock rims (besides those who bought aftermarket rims)???

I gotta agree with my man, I don't like them either, the 5 spokes seem too thin and in general the first impression i got from the rims was "weak" or not "aggresive" I dunno, but hey man, it's your car and your choice

I think something like these would look better, especially on my black on black but I don't like the center piece and it seems a bit too simple, but I like that...

Ok I know we all are entitled to our opinions but you guys would have to see them in person to get the full effect of the rims. They are much"fatter" in person and the carbon fiber spokes reallly sets off the car. The pics don't do the rims justice but thanks for the feedback.

Honestly though I'm not feeling either of the two rims pics you put up, they both seem outdated or a little too 80'ish for me but they may look better in person/mounted on the car (I'd have to see them like that first).

I prefer the lighter hyper silver look with a deep dish, if anyone has a good rim or rim and tire combo that they could suggest for me in either 19 or 20" then I would appreciate it, if not then I'm going to go with the first picture of the Savini's 19's that I posted.

Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up

I'm looking to put new shoes on my 09 Max and was dead set on 20s until I saw this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tTHQSnVALLE&NR=1

I didn't even consider 22s as I thought that would look tacky and "Ghetto", but the wheels wells on these cars match them nearly perfectly.

Long story short, my GFGs are on order.

I'm just waiting for someone to come out with some nice rotors to match.

Hey i think i got one the most aggressive wheels, and tires i have a pic of my 09 max with the wheels i got some www.forgiato.com i think is worth it high end stuff but at the end of the day is worth if i got 22x9.5 rear and 22x8.5 front lexani tires (rr 295/25zr/22 front 245/30zr/22 i like it but it will depend on your taste.

Some of those rims are of a crazy design and I only liked a few of them but I definitely wouldn't add any colors to them. To me, adding color only cheapens the look of the Maxima, unless it is Carbon Fiber.

I can't see pics of your car here at work, so what color is the car?

If the Rims are painted the same or similar color then I don't think it'll look bad or cheapen the look of the car but if it is something off (like Blue Rims or a White Car) then I think it looks odd and cheapens the car.

When I get home I'll take a look at your car.
Thanks
