From a 2011 to 2017 (Rayyyy)

.. so am on my 3rd maxima
- 2005 ( new), 2011 (used), and now a 2017 (used)

The 05
the 05 ran up to 275k miles. Was not happy spending a full day replacing the alternator, another day for the lower AC line, then that ghastly Tran jerk…disposed of her in 2013

The 11
Short of dropping the 2011 engine / Tran as a DIY, am the DIY to sustain 308k miles…. (Previous owner put 34k miles before I inherited her) ..will keep for a few more weeks before I dispose of… then again 🤔🙄🤔🙄🤔

so the wife saw and blessed the “17-Platinum Medallion” as she’s noticed me spending and putting time into the ‘11….baby stuff.. like injectors, O2 sensor, oils, plugs… that kinda thing…

I was going for the 1/2mil miles 👀👀

But I truely don’t mind the DIY on the 11 and enjoyed every moment. … I was thinking of driving her til the wheels falls off..🤔🤔🤔🤔

my 11 still gives 28mpg, 525-550 miles on a full tank, regular gas. … no joke!!

replace Tran at 275k and no concerns… diy Tran-oil change at 30k intervals, engine every 4k miles

45 miles one way to work, and just my daily-drive…. The creature comfort is it👊👊

so am migrating slowly to the Next gen, but will always show face over here.

oh, did you know that the 2011 is the best year for this Gen, same for the 17, but stay the 🤬🤬 away from the 05 ( all years for this Gen)???

Great hanging out w this group!!👊👊😎😎

Thanks for the update Les, we appreciate your contributions over the years. I've been a fan since 97 and my Maximas have no doubt been the two best cars I've owned. I'll probable wait for the next refresh before replacing mine though. Good luck to you, Don't be a stranger.

Sadly, there won't be another refresh. The Maxima is done!

@jevery thank you my friend. Considered a honorary member to this Gen., and will always continue contributing.
I’ve started 🫣 at the Next Gen platform and started some chatter for feelers. Soo far, the issues seems minor …

The Wiz is correct, grab one while you can, this is the last Gen

Yea, I'm still bummed about that news - Had no idea. Maximas have been part of my life for 26 years. Looking a a new ride for my wife and Subaru Ascent is on the short list. I'm not an SUV type of guy so I'll be taking over the F-150 and they've been in my garage for over 40 years now. Gonna have an adjustment period to change from my agile peppy Max to the truck, but consolation is that I'll now be able to see the traffic in front of the pickup that I'm behind.

I can relate to the truck mode… my tundra stood on 35’s and a6-inch lift kit, with fingerprints all over… drive it like I stole it…

the next Max Gen I believe will be ‘electric’….
