Android usb

2010 Maxima Premium no navigation

I'm about to switch to a Samsung from an iPhone and I am curious if the usb cable in the center console (which I use to play my iPhone through the head unit) will work with android os.

I don't expect the switch to be easy, just hoping my car doesn't make it any harder. Thanks.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I am pretty sure it will just charge and mass dump all the songs into one directory, no playlists, or genres, etc. That is all part of the Itunes connect API at the USB level.

I don't know the differences between the nav unit and a non nav one as to what they're capable of doing Bluetooth wise. I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 phone and I play my music via Bluetooth. I have navigation as well and use my usb to play my ipod. I tried linking my ipod touch via Bluetooth but gave up after a few tries so I don't really know if the ipod touch is compatible or not via Bluetooth.

I have an Android also, and the USB only charges in my Maxima. I had to pick up a 3-1 AUX cable to play music through the AUX port on my phone. If anyone knows of a a way to play through the USB on Androids I'd be interested. I don't have NAV either, so I can't stream bluetooth, and I'm definitely not buying an iphone.

No nav, so no BT audio streaming.
Thinking I may switch to an aux cord any ways. The past few updates to iOS seems to have hampered the functionality of the sub hookup any way.
