Get a true dual 3" exhaust running from headers.

^^ that's something I've wondered as well. Does the tune get more expensive per the additional modifications you've done? Or is a tune a tune? And does this tune vary from saving mpg's to gaining hp?

My guess, I'm going to wait until all my mods are in, and then tune.

I think most will tell you that modding this car for power won't be as satisfying as you'd expect if you've modded other cars for performance. With full bolt-ons and tune I was looking at an estimated 260 whp. You just have to keep it in perspective that this is a family sedan and you're not going to slap on a few things and see +50 hp or anything. Most people I know who are power-hungry tried things with the Max but ultimately sold it and moved onto a more power-friendly platform.

Regarding the Uprev tune, it is a standard price if you want the dyno tune service. You can see on Uprev's site a dealer list to find someone local you can call and talk to. For me it was $300 for the license, $350 for the dyno tune and I saw pretty good gains throughout the power band. If you have full bolt-ons and want to make the most out of it; I highly recommend the tune to bring it all together. I saw a slight bump up in mileage as well back closer to stock numbers.

Is the car faster and more fun to drive with full bolt-ons and tune? Yeah. It is fast enough I can compete with cars designed to go fast from the factory that have modifications done to them? Nah. Even with my turbo, I'm still expecting it to be one of the slowest boosted VQ's ever. It's just a fun car to mod that you have to keep your expectations set for in terms of what you get out of it power-wise.

Very well put Ghozt! Subaru's and Mitsubishi's are getting cheap to find and the aftermarket parts for those are on the cheap now. I had a 2008 with 350 WHP all wheel drive and it was a blast to drive. Plus there are many other platforms out there to get your power fix. I commend the OP for trying to mod your car and good luck man.

Well said Ghozt.
I believe the tune will make the car more enjoyable and much faster over 85mph. I absolutely hate that the throttle closes half way. Also the A/F is very fat when floored so I know there is more HP to be had there.
