well remember the maxima don't have a transmission for performance so I don't see why they would bother. Plus I don't think any of them want to mess up there cvt from racing it. Nissan should of put a 6mt in that car or a 7 speed auto with paddle shifters. The cvt belongs in there 4 banger cars because people buy those to save gas and that's where the cvt belongs. Honda is doing that..the v6 accord you get a transmission choice of either a true auto with gears or a 6mt and there cvt is in there 4 banger accords..thats how it should of done...cmon Nissan your smarter then that lol..I guess there Z car is the only thing worth a damn anymore =(

13.7 was my personal best when she was still setup for the drags.

Full bolts ons and the ETC assist delete for true WOT. Trap speed low since I messed up and kept the car in manual mode, but I'm sure she can do 13.3-13.5 had I kept it in full CVT after launch.

Anyways, short mod list.
Custom tune w/100 octane map (COBB Accessport for the VQ35DE)
Injen SP series intake
Denso spark plugs (1 step colder than stock)
CXJ phenolic thermal intake manifold/throttle body spacers
Stillen oil cooler kit
Custom TIG welded 3" exhaust

Impressive times- especially 0-60' <2 sec tells me the car hooked-up well. What were you using for tires?

At the time, Michelin Pilot Sport AS/3s. Rear dampers maxed out to full stiffness.

So Cobb makes a tune for our cars that's able to delete throttle cut as well?

tune and all that and your mph is lower then mine stock..damn cvts eating away the power gains lol. I don't see you picking up .4 in the 1/4 mile by leaving it in d mode vs manual mode. I ran my car in manual mode once to see how much slower it was..I ran about the same time but the mph dropped almost 1 mph...nothing drastic.

The accessport software was originally for the VQ35DE on a 350Z and has been long discontinued. Luckily, a buddy of mine got his hands on the software and was able to get the ECU to recognize it with some tinkering. You also need COBB accesstuner to change values and parameters, otherwise, the base maps available on the accessport manager are locked.

As far as I know, I'm the only 7th gen tuned on COBB, everyone else is on UpRev.

No, the CVT is not optimal. Neither is dragging a FWD car.

^^^ thanks for the links. I read one guy said at 85mph he throws the lever over to manual mode and it seems to not fall off as much. Anyone try that? Probably placebo effect but..
