Well that's just brilliant.
Good think I got everything all set and it works just fine now, but if I need to reprogram it or reflash it, then I am just screwed. I wonder why DEI is doing this.

EDIT: After actually going to the new site and seeing the message, at the very least those of us that flashed it for 3x start before Oct 1, 2014 can still update and re-flash with the 3x start.
I still think removing that feature from being enabled in the first place is silly.

I guess my questions would be if I bought a dball2 and sent it to you, could you flash it properly? I'm not quite sure of the flashing process, so I don't know if the program sees the serial number or anything. Would have saved me a ton of money.

Unfortunately, the flashing utility does read the DBALL2 serial number before performing any action. I would not be able to flash your unit to activate the 3X Lock feature

I have a few theories on how to try and get around this, but it requires experimentation and possible bricking of the DBALL2 modules, something I'm not willing to do.

I could also try and figure out the flashing process itself, and see how the program works, but that would take some time and probably not feasible.

This is absolutely insane. As a consumer I'm livid. I already called their customer service and gave them an earful. My guess is they weren't selling enough Dball2Pros so they made this small change and bam. I just ordered my DBall2Pro and my wiring harness so I guess they win.

DBALL2 AND murano,not maxima

Hi all,Thanks for all the info, first off,i have a murano 2013 sl,it seems as if Murano owners are`nt into remote start,so that's why I am here,i think the maxima and murano has the same wiring,so long story short,i installed the dball2 and a StartSmart module, with the thniss3 (rev2) Harness,i did all the install as per the dball2 instructions and program it to the smartstart , prorammed the oriigonal key (oem smartkey) activated the smartstart module and the vehicle would not start,if I press the app on my iphone to lock or unlock the doors it would work ok,when I press start on the iphone app it flashes all the parking lights on the vehicle but nothing happens, please help. Thanks in advance (so the SmartStart module is getting the signal, but the bdall2 isn`t responding)

How many times do the lights flash? If it is around 8 times then you need to flip the override switch.

Thank you

Hi mjhuffer,YOU are the man, who would have thought of such a simple thing, I just did what you said, just flip the over ride switch and that did the trick,Thank you, thank you, where do you live, when ever I am in your area I will drop off a 24 pack, thank you again.i was so relieved that I did not check everything,so now I have discovered that the trunk/hatch doesn't open when I touch on the trunk button on my iphone (I have the smartstart module) its really not a big deal, cause everything else work ok. Thanks

Dealer is higher

You can buy the fortin evo-all with the t harness for about 115.00 and I program them for 17.00 or you can buy the updater for 50.00 and do it your self. its an easy install. I can do one in about 1.5 hours.
