Attention black trim people and paint professionals

I got so sick of seeing all the chrome trim on my car so I spray painted all of it black. I was pretty sure that the paint wouldnt stick to the trim and after a week I'm beong proved right.
My question, what is the best way to go about getting the trim blacked out? I got a few quotes from professionals and they were between $400-$1000. Is this roughly how much u guys spent too?

uh what? I spent $20 in vinyl off eBay and did it myself. first vinyl project ever. also spray paint has no problem sticking, you just need to sand the hell out of it first to get it to stick.

Vinyl or plasti dip is the cheapest method and not permanent

also for reference, it costs about $300 to have a front bumper resprayed so should be way less to have such a small surface area painted.

Yes, what others have stated! I used 3M black vinyl and never looked back(on the window trip), I'm going to vinyl wrap my front grill trim, as I'm having the same issue with knicks,

I used 3m 1080 vinyl....looks like paint and is easily removable. Just take your time and do it right so the edges are perfect. I used the same stuff on my roof, rear window spoiler, side mirrors, front grille trim, and center of front bumper/lower valance. Like I said, take your time. The 3m stuff is real easy to work with

You could also go the plasitip route, but that is a matte finish which I did not want.

vinyl is fine as long as you dont go around trying to press your thumbnail into it - it will make marks. other than that its held up fine

Does the Window trim need to come off to use vinyl? How & O you get it to wrap around the edges and stay?
