Any guy's in here had a 6th gen then moved up to a 7th gen What does it feel like to go from a 6th to a 7th ride and handling differences? Does the 6th feel better than the 7th or vice versa?

I had the 6th Gen and I can say without a doubt that the 7th Gen has MUCH better handling. I personally feel that the 6th Gen Maxima was the least nimble of all the generations. The 7th Gen Nissan went back to their roots and invested a lot more into the overall handling of the car.

And the one true thing i love about 6 gens is the 6 speed option!!!

I'll take a 7th gen If I can keep my 6th. far as ride quality I feel like my 6th with 22 inch wheels on it the ride quality is the same as the 7th the feel is about the same (smooth glide). The 7th handling is more sophisticated.

I had an 06 before my 09, everything on the 7th is just much improved, it also feels like a larger car, probably due to the longer wider front end

It seems like you guy's have gotten your money's worth going from the 6th gen to the 7th. The only thing I don't like is the 7ths reputation for being the same size as the Altima or a bit smaller interior.

I had a '05 but had springs and a RSB on it. My New Max pushes too much and is far too soft. I'll be looking for a RSB and springs soon!

The biggest thing I miss would be the 5 speed conventional transmission. My '05 was a great car, I did not have one issue with it for over 75,000 miles! Nothing. I beat the heck out of that car. I still miss it.

Loved my 6th gen Maxima SL. Roomiest Maxima ever built. Very comfortable ride. I liked its looks. My friends loved to ride in that car, especially in the back seat.

I would have been happy driving that 6th gen indefinitely, but my custom has always been to buy the first year of each new Maxima generation, so I moved to my '09 with Premium Package and Tech (Navigation) Package.

The 7th gen is not quite as roomy in the back seat, but still holds several six footers who I sometimes have riding there.

I am a HUGE CVT fan (will admit it takes a while to learn all the nuances of driving the CVT), and the 7th gen CVT is better than any CVT I have ever driven.

I find I can drive faster on curvy mountain roads with less leaning in my 7th gen. Living in middle Georgia, I also love the rear window sunscreen and separately air conditioned driver's seat in my 7th gen.

But the most important change for me was the reduction of the turning radius by FOUR FEET between the 6th and 7th gens. I was often left hanging out to dry while trying to turn my 6th gen on a busy road, but the 7th gen is a far better 'turner.'

That's my biggest issue with the 7th is the rear seat I've got people in my family over 6ft3 and they fit comfortable in the backseat of my 6th. If the 7th had that larger rear seat I would have bought one along time ago. The 7th is perfect except for that and the power folding mirrors on the 6th it doesn't have them those are my only two complaints.

I can't disagree with anything you said. If it gives you hope, I am positive the 8th gen Maxima will have power folding outside mirrors, and would bet they add a (needed) inch or two more knee room in the rear seating area.

If I had it my way i'd buy a pearl white 09-11 SV and put some 22s on it or a black one but keep my 6th gen. I like the red tail lights better than the clear ones.

As much as I LOVED my 6th Gen, it was a night and day difference once I got into the 7th Gen. Do it, you wont regret it.

Since my 6th is payed for almost i'm due for a second car so I will have two cars. I'm waiting to see what the 8th gen Maxima is gonna look like. If the 8th gen aint up to par then i'm gonna go buy me a 7th gen. either a 7th gen Maxima or a Tahoe I cant figure out what I want. i'm a little dude 5ft9 145 but the 6th gen has that big feel it's solid and you feel protected I like big cars. The 7th gen the downsize got me a little bit because I don't like cars that feel small but you guy's keep saying its worth it.

Another feature left out of the 7th gen is the turn lamps. On poorly lit roads, it's nice to have a well lit path to where you're turning in to.

The 6thgen was mad nice love the front of the 07-08 exhaust looked great and 22s fit perfect. Only bad was that sagging rear end just hated that and the motor mounts cracking. My 7thgen is nice didn't really care for it at first but once you do sum mods the car comes into its Own. Better handling wider body and great power. Now I'm watching for the 8thgen. P.s the 7th has a spot for ur key fob lol 6thg lacked that lol

I had a 07 and it is a sweet car. hated the turning radius on it tho. Seen the 2011 and fell for it. one of those "had to have it" not sorry for trading either.

This is probably the biggest thing I missed from my 2007 to my 2012...the lack of the corner lights.

I also actually had less rattles with the interior trim on my 2007 at 5 yrs old than on my 1 yr old 2012. The 2007 was a base SE compared to my top end 2012 SV...wonder if that matters with interior trim noises.

Otherwise...stereo...handling...lack of road noise...and looks all were definite upgrades for me on my 2012. My 2012 handles better than my 2007, but also has a bit better ride I think. A great combination! Both were stock cars...no aftermarket suspension or wheel upgrades.
