Question about The max

I have a 2000 max and the back seat folds 60/40 down, does the 7th gen fold also. The Nissan web.site makes it sound confusing. Its great to have.

Correct. The Sport and Premium packages have a rear cross brace, "to stiffen up the chassis". Base S and I think....SV....models have the fold down rear seats. The sport and premium only have the pass through.

If you are thinking ahead, you cannot convert the seats to a fold down type by removing the plate. The seat back, in the sport and premium packages, is bolted to the base of the car in 3 spots and uses hangers in 3 more spots at the top to secure it. If you wanted that option you would have to loose the seats and change them out. More work that it is worth IMO.

^thats what made me get the sport package because of the bucket sections on the rear seats... for some reason on the premium package the bucket rear seats didn't look aggressive and to me looked different... maybe my eyes was playing me at the time... lol

Your eyes deceived you. The sport and premium have the same leather bucket rear seats bolted to the same body-strengthening lateral brace. You might have been looking at different colored interiors on the sport and premium, which might have given a different visual effect.

You are right, i ran into the same question at purchasing ...two cars identical but S model had folding seats ( same contour) and SV didnt...which in my mind is a minus on SV
