Just received my rims in the mail today. Can you guys give me recommendations for tire brands and sizes.

Rims are 22 x 8.5

These rims will only be in the car from April-October. Stock rims will be back on the car for winter months.

1010tires.com has a tire size calculator

you failed to tell us what you're looking for in a tire

those wheels are supper narrow for 22", FTL !

wrong section?

Is this not the section to ask other 2009-2011 Maxima owners who have 22" rims what they think is a good tire?

Lot's of sites have tire size calculators, that not what I want, nor what I asked for.

yes wrong section, there is a wheel/tire forum where every gen owner can ask their wheel/tire questions.

define what is a "good size". rule of thumb is that a good size is one that maintains the overall stock diameter and a tire size calculator is used to calculate this.
if that is not what you asked for then what were you asking for? are you planning to run streched tires? if so where is your offest information? are you worried about fitment issues? if so where is your offest/ride height?
you also give us 0 information as to what it is that you're looking for in a tire.

its kinda like me coming out here and asking what kinda suit I should buy without providing any infromation.

i understand you might be new at this so lets try this again.

Somehow I doubt that there is even close to as many 2009-2011 Maxima owners with 22" rims who can answer my question in the tire/wheel section than this section. I just took a look over there and its not even close.

Also I did not ask what a "good size" is, I simply asked for recommendations.

you're seeking recommendation on tire brand, which has nothing to do with vehicle make/model/year and little to do with rim diameter. again, what is it that you're looking for in a tire? traction? performance? mileage? fitment? bang for the buck? low cost?

it seems like you're more concered with fitment, which depends on offset/drop.

for a fwd car? wider wheels will need a wider tire which will make the steering less responsive and increase turning radius. and the 7th gen's stock turning radius is already kinda big.

anyways, i hope those are a +35ish offset. a 245/30 should be fine. i love pirelli p zero neros but they're pricey.

Offset is +40. Car is NOT lowered and will not be. Any recommendations?

Also if anyone sees anything here, that would be great, as they are running a $100 off promo this weekend.

OK so I went to 4 different tire stores today, 2 that are national chains, and 2 that are local stores that have both been in business 30+ years.

The salesperson at each store told me their really is no difference as far as performance, longevity, quietness\ at this tire size. Even though they had several options from $161 a tire up to $389 a tire, all 4 stores said I would be better off going with the cheapest option.

My question is, wth?

I have always bought the cheapest tires available my whole life on all my vehicles, and to be honest I've never had any complaints, but I've always had the sales people try to up-sell me also. So I'm quite stunned that all they want to sell me is the cheapest model.

Thats bull. I had a charger with cheap kumho 265/35/22. I sold them and got 24s with pirelli 275/25/24. And believe it or not, the 24s were quieter, handled better, and rode softer than the kumho 22s. From my experience, the size of the sidewall has nothing to do with noise. It has to do with the softness of the rubber used. But as far as handling, a very short sidewall doesnt improve handling.
