Best HID Conversion Kit?
Hey guys,
I'm looking for the best quality HID Conversion Kit I can buy for my 2010 Maxima SV. I already went through two sets of Xentec HID Kits that I got off of Ebay. The last set I had was the worst! My right bulb actually exploded inside of the headlight housing! I was astonished when pulling it out to replace with the original halogen. Now i'm in the market for a new set of HID's that won't burn out or explode so easily. If you have any suggestions as to what is the best bang for my buck, please reply.
Thanks!
DJ Zreik

The Carid ones look solid, thanks! Ill post pics up once I get them. Is there a tutorial on how to put these in on these forums? Because if not, I can make one! =)
Also, I looked at the picture of the 5K's, are they really that white or do they have some blue in them? I want a mixture of blue and white but if the 10K's are going to give me a bad light output I'd rather get the 5K's. Can anyone that has bought these very for me?

The 10K's are apparently expert recommended.

I bought my kit from The Retrofit Source (H11 with 5K temperature) for my 2011 Murano.
Compared to the stock HIDs I had on my 2010 Maxima, these look much stronger than OEM.
Comparison photos
Original halogens with fog light on
HIDs H11 5000K color with fogs off
No glare!
Even though the lighting looks somewhat blueish for 5000K temperature it's a photographic illusion. The lighting produced by these is a pure white.

Oh ok, yea i saw on the garage door that they were pure white. I guess I'll go with the 10K's. Also, my last question is that are the 10K's going to give a significantly less light output then the 5K's or are they relatively the same? Because my understanding is that the higher in temperature you go, the less light is produced. If you can answer this final question I will be greatly appreciative.
P.S.- Thanks Ricko, those pictures are extremely helpful!!!

Kelvin Ratings
3000K Has a golden yellow output perfect for use in fog lights. The yellow light penetrates through snow, rain, and fog more effectively than white or blue light. 4300K Has a slightly off-white output similar to that of sunlight. All cars that come equipped with HID headlights from the factory use 4300K bulbs. If you want the most usable light, 4300K is the kelvin rating for you. 5000K A pure white output, no tinge of yellow, and no tinge of blue. 6000K+ As you move into the higher kelvin ratings, your light output will appear more bluish-purple in hue, but the bulbs wont be physically as bright. As HID bulbs age, they go through what is known as "color-shift". When the bulbs are brand new, the output is whitish-yellow and as physically bright as it will ever be. As the bulbs age with use, their output turns more pure white/bluish and also starts to dim a bit. That's why cars with factory 4300K bulbs that are 5+ years old look like they're running 5000K or higher bulbs.
We commonly get customers looking for high kelvin [ie 6000K] bulbs because they want their headlights to be "brighter". There is a huge misconception here. As the Kelvin rating of a bulb increases, its Lumen rating decreases. Simply put: 4300K bulbs will put more usable light on the road compared to 6000K, 8000K, 15,000K bulbs. Period, end of story. TRS refuses to sell anything higher than 6000K because 1) We don't cater to obnoxious "enthusiasts" who want their headlights to look like a Christmas tree, and 2) it starts to defeat one of the main purposes of the headlight upgrade: better light output. Furthermore, choosing a high-kelvin bulb doesn't guarantee you'll get the exotic color flicker effect that everybody lusts after. The effect is produced entirely by the projector and lens combination.
When choosing a bulb from TRS, it does not matter whether you are using low beam or bi-xenon projectors. Unlike halogen headlights, with bi-xenons, nothing happens to the bulb when the high beams are activated. It does not get any brighter or shift positions. Simply put: you don't need "low beam" or "bi-xenon" specific bulbs. Our S2K-R low beam projectors and FX-R bi-xenons both use "D2S" bulbs.
It is also important to note an important difference between OEM and low quality aftermarket bulbs. The positioning of the capsule inside the projector is crucial to get a focused beam pattern without any uneven hotspots. All OEM bulbs have precision-set glass tubes to ensure the output will be in focus, whereas the aftermarket ones without the metal support structure are often mis-aligned inside the projector, causing a blurry cutoff line and other awkward shadows in the beam pattern. Here, our high-end Morimoto bulbs perform on par with the quality Philips units with their aligning metal base

can I simply swap out these fog bulbs w/ out ballasts or anything? Think 5k would match stock HID headlights. I like the pure white look.

HID's Arrived and Installed!
Hey guys!
I just received my Kit a couple of days ago and I am extremely pleased with it! The quality of the HIDs and the color is vivid and Beautiful. Attached are going to be two pictures of how they look like when fully warmed up. at the start they come out to be very blue, but as they warm up they get very bright and the blue gets very dim, but that's completely OK! I took my old 6K HID from the right side and moved it down to my bottom right fog. I took my 8K from the left side and replaced the bottom left fog with it. Don't ask why i have two different colors, it's a long story haha. All in All the lights from carid.com are completely worth the price and it's great quality!

I noticed that DDM only sells 35/55w units. Has anyone noticed a bulb color difference when they purchased a (lets say 6k) 35w set for the fogs and just replacement (6k) low beam bulbs? I was about to pull the trigger until I thought of this. For the record, I have D2S low beams so I will not require a ballast. I'm just one of those people who like to have matching color lights, so I wasn't sure if the 35/55w fogs will make a difference.. Thanks

Sorry to bump an old thread but is DDM still the bed HID kit to get? I am wondering why it is so cheap?
