Whine from drivetrain at light accel
Has anyone else heard a somewhat faint high pitched whine around 40-50 when just cruising along? I hear it on smooth roads when there is less tire noise or wind noise to drown it out. I think its the CVT but not sure.
I tried shifting out of drive and coasted but still hear it.
It does not seem to be a tire noise but its hard to tell...
Its not the same whine you get when slowing to a stop (i know thats normal from the CVT)

The fact the noise stays the same when you take the car out of gear sort of sounds like this may not be the tranny. If the sound stays the same as you pick up speed coasting down a hill, then tires, wheels and brakes are probably not involved. Have you tried driving the car in 'manual', playing with the gears? Do you have any windows open when you hear this sound? Someone here must have an idea what this could be.
