Name a feature...

1 - Power folding outside mirrors.
2 - Auto-dimming outside right mirror.
3 - 22 gallon gas tank (since Nissan discourages us from using the last few gallons of the current 20 gallon tank).
4 - Advanced TPMS system that displays exact psi for each of the 4 tires and the spare.
5 - Buzzer that gently reminds us if we exceed whatever speed we set it for (this is not related to cruise control). My wife really needs this on long freeway trips.

Since we are limiting this to features found in previous vehicles I've owned...
1.) Lighted Homelink Buttons
2.) TPMS that shows actual pressure in each tire
3.) Ability to automatically turn lights on when wipers are on
4.) Auto Sensing/Speed wipers
5.) Climate control that remembers last manual setting.
6.) "Toggle Control" for High Beams (vs. pushing the stalk forward)
7.) Fold down seats (instead of pass thru) on Premium.

I am surprised that nobody wants a manual transmission. This has got to be on the wanna have bad list.
I had the automated seatbelts on my 1990 Maxima. They look good on paper but bad in practice.
My 7th generation premium has features I have not even used yet.

- Heads-Up Display - absolutely amazing in my Pontiac Grand Prix
- Sunglasses Holder - found in my last 2 cars
- 2 less doors
- RWD
- Fold-Down Seats (although I could take it or leave it)
- Oil viscosity gauge!! I can't believe these cars don't have them I don't know if any Nissan/Infiniti does. They just have the "by mileage" thing.

I come from a 2004 Grand Prix GTP, so I definitely miss the HUD. I am really surprised that more cars don't have this feature, especailly since it really isn't that expensive.
My sisters Monte Carlo SS has a cool feature where you only have to tap the turn signal lever and it will flash 3 times. This is nice on the highway when you are passing vehicles.

Well my last vehicle was a GMC 4X4, so i guess I wish my 96 max had all wheel drive with rear bias
I had a diesel rabbit once, A V6 TT TDI would be SICK

I was going to pay extra for the .50 cal option on my max but after my last car with one my wife said "Only a turret gun" because she was tired of getting bugs in her teeth when we needed to use it. I guess that's was marriage is all about though... Compromising

Here's a few more that I've thought of:
-Open/close all windows and sunroof with key fob
-Remote start
-Onstar or something similar
-And as LOTH stated a TPMS that displays the pressure for individual tires
Even without these "wishlist" items the Maxima is a fantastic car. I love driving my Max!

Exactly what you said, WE NEED A 6SPD!!
#24
For many years, I was hoping Nissan could find a way to justify keeping the manual. But with the CVT becoming more fuel efficient and giving better acceleration, much stricter fuel standards on the way, the move upscale greatly reducing Maxima sales numbers, and the economic crunch paring profits razor thin, there is no way Nissan can now justify a manual Maxima.
#25
Nissan already offers a manual transmission with the Maxima, it's the Infiniti G37. If you really want that 6SPD MT then you're going to have to pay up a bit more and get the Infiniti. The same applies for the request of an all wheel drive Maxima.

This car is nearly perfect...a definite head turner, fast, comfortable and a great alternative to a BMW or Mercedes. However, like many of you have said, I'd love it if the car was:
1. RWD
2. Had a 6spd (I don't want the Infinite cuz it doesn't look as sexy as the Maxima)
3. Had Rear Sensors
4. Equipped with same radio system as my 08 Pathfinder (don't need Navigation, but would be cool to be able to set the headlights to turn off as soon as I leave the car - i.e. when I shut the door)
Otherwise, wouldn't change a thing.

1) Nightpanel option that turns off all dashboard illumination except for the speedometer (had this on my 2008 Saab 9-3)
2) Rear power sunshade automatically lowers when shifting into reverse and returns to the upright position when shifting back into drive (had this on my 2007 Lexus IS350)
3) Ability to open the panoramic roof with the keyfob or the "door button" (my 2010 370Z lowers the top in this way)

IMO all the maxima really, really needs are LED drl's, a wider, lower offset oem wheel setting and a lower suspension offering just like bmw does with their models.....and the most important of all, a REAR WHEEL DRIVE platform.

The option to individually chose which features I want - without having to get more than a couple of the ones I don't. A la carte ordering, if you will, like it used to be for U.S. domestics (and including the choice we're only supposed to talk about in some lengthy stickied thread).
I am considering any and all of the various "nannies" of today to be "optional features", since they are not essential to the actual tasks associated with driving.
