Hidden Service Menu

Hidden Service Menu
Wondering if any of you guys have a clue on this one- When I first got the Max I brought it in for service because the XM radio was not working, the car was not recognizing it at all because it was not even coming up as an option when hitting the AUX button. The tech thought it was prob a loose wire somewhere- which it turned out to be with some investigating. But before that while I was still there he accessed a hidden menu in the radio that had all sorts of functions for enabling/disabling and adjusting different systems in the car. He did it by holding down something and pressing something else I think, of course it was too quick for me to figure out. When I asked him how he did it he said he couldn't tell me how it was done because I might mess something up hehe. No laptop or anything was involved. Is it something that would be in the service manual? I have the SV with Monitor package, no nav.

wow i didn't know Max's had this feature too.
on my M , i believe the procedure to access the advanced features of the car you have to have the engine running, and the stereo off.
then while holding dow the "settings" button, turn counterclockwise the "volume" **** about 30 clicks and you should see the advanced setting menu on the main screen.

Tried this today, looks like the one the tech brought up when I had the car in. Didn't have much time today to really dig into it but I will when I get a chance. Thanks guys
I did see the flowchart looking screen that shows the XM module is connected, this must have been what the tech was looking for.
