XM and NavTraffic back on

Hey has anyone noticed that all of a sudden the XM radio and NavTraffic is working even though you don't subscribe to it. All of a sudden my navigation traffic is working and only a handful of XM channels will play.

Are they doing some type of free promotion of something??? This would be cool if it stayed free like this.

Yep. I found my 'free two week' card in my post office box with two days left in the two week period. It was not in the box two days earlier. Very poorly handled.

I bought my wife's 2008 M35 Sport, 3 months ago. XM radio and NavTraffic were not on. A week ago, when we driving around rush hour traffic, to our amazement NavTraffic started working. Now, it may be same as what you guys are experiencing. I will need to find out if some XM stations are working when she gets back home tonight.

As for my 08 Maxima, it was supposed to be shut by XM almost a year now. So far, I am enjoying service for free. Have never had any interruption. All stations working as day one.

Ok this free promo just ended. My XM and NavTraffic is back to being turned off. I think they should stop tying all these car services to the XM subscription. With the 2010 model you can get NavTraffic and Weather info but only with a XM subscription. They really need to stop tying these services to the XM subscription and just make them included with the car.

It was active in my car for about 48 hours...just happened to be a period when we had the most severe t-storms I can recall. Came in handy.
