Winter Gas (Those w/ Stillen Intake & Exhaust)

Ok so before the winter season I was averaging about 255mi. on a full take of gas and now that it is winter time and w/ the switch to winter gas I am only averaging about 200mi. on a full take. Anyone else having this problem? Idk why I am getting suck ****ty gas milage. I drive mostly highway now that I got a new job and I drive to work in the morning and leave work at night so its like not like I am driving my car all over the place.

Your first problem is only 255 miles per tankful. How many mpg is that?

Winter gas always produces less mileage than summer. It's the ethanol. But 20% decrease is out of line.

Perhaps you have a chronic case of Pés Plumbum.

Man that sux I feel your pain. Before winter I was spending about 50$ every 7-9 days and now its about every 5-6 days. But thing is that here in CT there is not a lot of stop and go at all its pretty much all cruising and that is what I do highway and hardly any city driving and I'm getting almost 200 miles to a tank of gas. Before winter like I said I was getting about 255 miles to a tank.

I USUALLY USE SHELL NITROGEN GAS (I have found that I get the best miles per tank out of that gas than any other company which just makes my 255 miles per tank go down about by 15 miles to 240 for some reason.)

Hows your tire pressure? It can make a big difference in mpgs.

It almost sounds like you have my old fiat millecinque's (a few years (allright, decades back) issue where the exhaust got "clogged" when my mod went "south." I left a rag that I had covering the exhaust in place that was restricting my exhaust. I had to take it off and try again. Fortunately I got to it before too much permanent damage was done. I would love to get a read on your spark plugs and exhaust pipe(s))
Living in FL my gas mileage always improves in the winter (don't have to use the AC!!) But even assuming the extra "choke" you run for the "real cold", I would think that running primarily highway should give you at least 25MPG average.

You have me very curious now KillaKam, please let us know what you find when you get it resolved!

I am also in CT and agree with the cruising driving environment. However, I register much higher on the car's mph screen; 35 mph is typical. I get 5-8 mpg better than what you are seeing. The offset for winter gas is perhaps 1 mpg.

The dealer will look at your mods and frown if you seek warranty work.

Dang ... I am currently getting around 20-21 MPG here, with a lot of stop-and-go, with perhaps 20% highway. I get between 250-350 per tank, depending on how long I wait to fill up, but since I bought the car, I've gotten 18-21 MPG city and 24-27 highway.

Sounds like a good time for BG 44k fuel system cleaner!
