Where are the 2010 Sport Packages?
#43
Went with the Sport + Tech. Took me awhile to find it.
I like the dual panel on the Prem, but not when it's open. It looks too bulky.
Also note that the Sport is just not larger wheels, it also upgrades the suspension and adds reinforcement to the trunk area for a more stable feel.
I have yet to see another one just like mine which I like. Tons of Altimas everwhere.

The body torsion-reducing reinforcement between the rear seat and trunk is part of BOTH the Sport and Premium
packages (but is not available except through those two packages).
The Sport package spoiler can fairly easily be added to the Premium.
The important part of the Sport package is (as you mentioned), the Sport tuned suspension - retuned struts and
shocks, stiffer springs, larger front stabilizer bar, the great 19" wheels and 40 profile 19" tires, and the nice
metal-faced surfaces in the cabin (Premium uses wood).

Th Maxima situation is NOT AT ALL the same as 'every other luxury car.'
We can have a base Maxima ('S'), a well-equipped Maxima ('SV'), a sports-oriented Maxima ('SV' with Sports package), or a luxury-oriented Maxima ('SV' with Premium package).
The reason we can't combine the Sports and Premium packages is because they go in completely opposite directions.
The only thing REALLY different with the Sports package (things like spoilers can be added to any Maxima) is the sport-tuned suspension - retuned struts and shocks, stiffer springs, larger front stabilizer bar, 19" wheels, 40 profile 19" tires, and metal-faced cabin surfaces.
Those are EXACTLY the things most families using this as a sporty, great-looking family car would NOT want. Long freeway trips on roads in the condition we have today require a more flexible, giving suspension and tire/wheel setup than the one on the Sport.
Premium has that perfect comfortable suspension for long family trips, while the Sport has a tighter, firmer, road-hugging ride for those more into sporty fun than comfortable transportation.
